The key to a #VATCUT is for our sector is the #Hospitality industry uniting under one key campaign, I've been pushing for this for months, indeed when you think back to it actually for years.
You can see my parliamentary statement from @RosieDuffield1's #HospitalityRoundtable at the House of Commons below calling (again!) for a united industry.
I believe that industry has now united behind @ChefTomKerridge and the https://t.co/LvLTRb4LOk campaign and it needed celebrity chefs and the major trade bodies to do it.
This is a pivotal moment for the sector and everyone MUST support it - its not a matter of if, but when and united we stand, divided we fall.

The latest One Night Only dinner with @sohohouse took us to Dublin this week for another Cities Without Houses members event.
For this one, Michelin-starred @Solstice_ncl travelled over from Newcastle to take over Note Dublin, with executive chef Scott John-Hodgson leading the kitchen for the night. Cooking the entire menu from scratch in an unfamiliar space, he and the team delivered the sort of finely tuned, quietly ambitious food that has made Solstice one of the most exciting restaurants in the North East.
What made the night work especially well was the way the menu still felt connected to where it was being served. Alongside a number of Solstice signatures, Irish ingredients were woven through the courses too — from Connemara oyster and Killybegs haddock to Sliabh Aughty heather honey — giving the dinner a real sense of place rather than feeling dropped in from elsewhere. There were plenty of standout moments across the menu, from smoked eel brandade and duck liver parfait to scallop tartare, guinea fowl served in two parts and a brilliant final run of petits fours.
Another very good match of kitchen and setting, and another reminder of how special these nights can be when you put the right restaurant in the right room. More to come with Soho House and Cities Without Houses.
“We still have the cost of doing business still too high.”
@UKHospKate, our Chair, spoke to @LBC about the high rate of closures in hospitality and the need for Government to reduce the sector’s tax burden.
Thank you @SorchaEastwood.
If you want to support Hospitality, please watch the video and sign the petition in the thread.
A sector specific VAT rate would save businesses and jobs.
We need a VAT reduction for Hospitality and other small businesses. The Government won't stop until more and more people are out of work. Support Small businesses and they will support the public.

How are you going to improve youth (or any) unemployment if you keep increasing the cost to businesses of employing people? If you make employing folk such a difficult and unattractive proposition, no wonder unemployment is growing. People actually deserve a proper Chancellor!

Rachel Reeves has done so much damage to the great British pub.
Massive business rate hikes.
The Jobs Tax.
The (Un)Employment Rights Bill.
They are being battered.
I won’t stop fighting to get them a better deal. 💪
‘We still don’t know what they’re proposing.’
Chef Tom Kerridge thanks @TomSwarbrick1 and LBC for covering the impact of business rates on pubs, but still doesn’t know what support the government will offer as it prepares to U-turn.
@andyjlennox @NoLabourMPs Well done @andyjlennox you are right. VAT is the most important lever the government can pull to save hospitality and make us competitive with the rest of Europe
