@Camila_Rocha Anyone who reads the Bible knows the creeds are bullshit. You think the growth of non-denominational Christians is accident? Some of them carry a Book of Mormon too by the way.
Correct. This doctrine flows logically from the Bible’s teachings that we are literal spirit children of God (from Acts 17:28–29/ Hebrews 12:9), that marriage is intended to be eternal (Matthew 19:4–6 D&C 132), and that exalted couples can become like our Heavenly Parents.
It is NOT however a central emphasis in worship or doctrine because we genuinely don’t know much about it than what has already been revealed but it beautifully completes the picture of a loving divine family. Christ only told us to pray to God through Him and that’s it.
@Benedicta_Bee Totally the same. Not only that there’s more evidence for the Book of Mormon than a lot of the Old Testament.
But again you accept that without a problem. The hypocrisy must be heavy sometimes.
That’s not true at all. LDS Family Search and the Catholic Church have been cooperative and the Catholic records are free to access for the Saints.
Speaking from experience, the Catholic Church had been super helpful with me and my family. Even after I left the Catholic Church. Never had an issue.
Besides baptism by proxy is entirely their choice on the other side. They don’t have to accept the baptism as a spirit. And if Catholics don’t believe in that sort of afterlife anyway why waste time being mad? It would be irrelevant to you.
That’s inaccurate. The Saints are monotheists who worship one God, the Father, in the name of His Son Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, with the three distinct personages perfectly united in purpose, will, and glory.
This biblical view simple familial Godhead of Scripture rather than accepting the post biblical philosophical Trinity theory. In other words the Godhead is biblical and the trinity isn’t.
We actually agree! No one is worthy through their own merits, all worthiness comes solely through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ.
The difference is the Saints require temple worthiness (faith, repentance, and baptism) not to earn salvation but to receive additional ordinances and blessings made possible only by Christ’s Atonement, just as Protestants expect ongoing obedience as evidence of genuine faith.
@ServusDeiVivi Do the opposite of what Christ told you to do in the Bible and pray to Mary, St. John or St. McGriddle, maybe one of those guys can help you figure it out.
