Tragic news this morning. Paul Auster's writing got under my skin, made me feel so alive, so nourished, and awe-stricken by the world. 4321, Invention of Solitude, Baumgartner all arrived in my hands at precisely the right time. He saved my life.

[Ezra Solway @SolwayEzra]

“The torment of being alive in a single body was that at any given moment you had to be on one road only, even though you could have been on another, traveling toward an altogether different place.”
