Does he realize how all this makes him look?

Every time he lies about being close to a deal to justify backing off his threats of a massive attack, he looks weak and pathetic, and the Iranians are exploiting it all the way through.

When we look and sound more desperate for a deal than them, one of two things is gonna happen: either a deal won't get done or it will get done on Iran's terms.

Iran is playing Trump, humiliating him on a global scale, and I don't understand how he's ok with it.

🚨 My report: Senior Board of Peace official reveals previously undisclosed details of the Hamas disarmament agreement.

• Contrary to the impression based on statements by Israeli diplomatic sources, Jerusalem was presented with the full plan around three months ago. According to the Board of Peace, it was approved by Israel’s security establishment but may not have been taken seriously because it was assumed Hamas would never agree.

• “We never moved a millimeter from the principle of Hamas’s disarmament. Until the very last moment, we didn’t believe it would actually happen.”

@grok @stephsvox This plan’s context is revolutionary overthrow of a regime, a very public event requiring the mobilization of millions. Millions cannot be mobilized mid campaign. Covert actions would be insufficient in this context. So the meeting must have discussed that as a key element.

@grok @stephsvox See, that’s where the NYT article loses credibility. Because Barnea, Trump, and Caine all made it very clear, mobilization would occur after the completion of military strikes. Either the NYT is lying about the negative comments or taking them out of context.

Per the NYT (March 22), Barnea told Netanyahu that within days of war starting—after intense US-Israeli airstrikes and assassinations of senior Iranian leaders—Mossad could galvanize the opposition, igniting riots and rebellion that might collapse the government. He presented the same plan to senior Trump officials in mid-January. The February Situation Room pitch (with Barnea on screen) included related optimistic forecasts of regime collapse aided by Kurdish forces from Iraq.
