Thread 1/3 Today's @SomaliaFGC discussed ongoing fiscal reforms and the success of bringing USD 16 million of UN aid to #FGS #Somalia institutions on-budget and on-treasury in accordance with the 2019 PFM Act as part the cabinet approved 2022 budget.

2/3 @SomaliaFGC welcomes the inclusion of UN projects in the 2022 budget. The funds are primarily for projects & thus provide limited scope for increased salaries or institutional expansion. FGC previously provided a guidance note to development partners on using country systems.

10/ Given the multiple financial governance challenges exacerbated by the protracted transition period, the incoming administration reached an immediate agreement with the IMF on the terms of the continuing ECF program. This will enable the resumption of budget support funding.
