Today I learned a term called “Premature Competence”: When a child is forced to become self sufficient too early because no adult is reliably meeting their needs, they develop a false maturity. In adulthood, they appear highly capable but struggle to ask for help because they never learned it was safe to need anyone.

Assuming they are aware you know or it’s not supposed to be something others don’t know about yet then a message & flowers, or order them a meal or even just a gift card from a restaurant you know they like. If she has a favorite snack/treat, maybe some of that. Doesn’t have to be anything big, just shows you guys care and are there. (We had miscarriages before my oldest was born)

Debating downsizing the pool this summer. The 18ft round 4ft deep is a LOT to maintain, and the 10ft 3ft one was nice to chill in and easier to maintain. And I already have a filter etc for it, just need a new liner, if I can find one lol
