Read and weep.I was MP here when he killed 3 precious children. Then he proved he had a conscience and cognitive ability by evading capture for 10 days. Now he goes free. Even the shrinks say he is still a risk. So he gets 6 years per murder. We are sick. https://t.co/zTMT2OxQD7
This is astounding. What a demonstration of why I keep banging on about the importance of impartiality in our public service. Because when an organization isn't impartial, they make decisions based on ideology instead of facts. And this is what ideological decision making looks like.
Also man in the black tee shirt: please run for PM. We need you to do what you do here for Toronto transit, but for the whole country.
A new poll suggests that 33% of Canadians support the idea of government-run grocery stores.
My guess is that many within that 33% also believe that the primary reason food prices have risen over the past few years is grocer greed.
@DailyHiveVan Since they couldn't be bothered to note it, and the list isn't in order of most to least, or least to most....
We rank 6th, out of 10 provinces and 3 territories. Ahead of SK, but behind ON (and AB, YK, NT, and NU).
Scotland specifically referenced the Canadian example in rejecting MAID. And I can tell you that nothing stops gay acceptance more quickly in the developing world than images of "drag queen story hour."
It's truly incredible how different the messaging has been from the #Canucks overt these past few weeks. Clear, focused, calm. Complete 180 of anything we heard under the Rutherford era.
The federal bureaucracy will cost taxpayers $79 billion this year (PBO).
The federal bureaucracy cost taxpayers $74 billion during Trudeau's last year (2024).
I thought Carney promised to "spend less?"
Cut Ottawa's bloated bureaucracy!
@It_is_Tiresome@bluesinthe93266@TristinHopper Capitalism exists within the realm of free exchange. You and I are free to exchange goods and services as we see fit.
That doesn't equate to monopoly.
Corporatism, though....
@It_is_Tiresome@bluesinthe93266@TristinHopper “Late stage capitalism” is language manipulation. It means absolutely nothing outside the blank minds of most leftists.
So, back to my point….they’re issue is with corporatism. End of story.
@It_is_Tiresome@bluesinthe93266@TristinHopper Those same lefties don't know that what they're actually complaining about is corporatism, not capitalism. But, when you press them on that, you get deer in the headlights stares.
It's time to stop handing out $'s to the private sector. If governments want to incentivize these businesses to set up shop or expand or whatever, than can do it with reduced taxes, tax holidays, or tax credits instead.
We can't actually afford to be handing out $'s anymore anyway. That said, we probably can't afford to reduce $'s received, either, but it's preferable to letting foreign entities abscond with $'s taken from ordinary Canadians.
