Every block is then recorded on the bitcoin blockchain, so the stacks layer 1 transactions are all secured by bitcoin, either by being recorded on the btc chain, or stakers being paid in it.

I think the unit of account should universally be satoshis, not bitcoin, it still has a limited supply and can be "scarce" because of this. A few hundred million satoshis are considered lost forever, sort of reinforces this point.
