Science Week! Year 4 have been exploring how to slow the rate of descent of a falling object.
After potato practice, we used eggs! It was egg-citing! Egg-cellent! Egg!
Investigating the mysterious properties of gases! Lots of questions explored today such as ‘Why doesn’t the paper get wet?’ And ‘Why does a fully inflated balloon weigh the same as an empty one?’
Can you dig it? Today, we were archaeologists and discovered Ancient Greek pottery remains. We pieced them together to see if we could gather clues about what life was like in those times.

Please to ‘metre’! Our children ‘weighted’ for this lesson for a long time. They had the ‘capacity’ to measure in THREE different ways during our practical maths lesson. They really enjoyed themselves!
Year 4 thoroughly enjoyed learning about black history recently. We focused on the great boxer, Muhammad Ali and the struggles he overcame. We also made Gee Band patterns as a class!
Today, we were ‘conducting’ an experiment to see which materials let electricity flow through them! Year 4 have thoroughly enjoyed our science topic this half term.
This week we have been switching it up! Our electricity unit continues as we explore the effect a switch has on an electrical circuit. We’ve also experimented with other items we could put in our circuit that allow electricity through them. They are called ‘conductors’.
Bzzzt! Year 4 are ‘current’ly (get it?) studying electricity. Here we are exploring a variety of circuits to understand the effect of adding/removing equipment.
