"I am still bewildered and horrified that our society walked away from this responsibility, that we called school inessential and left each family to fend for itself."
Thank you @MsAlmagor for your dedication to kids, & for articulating this so clearly.

"In Brookline and Somerville in Massachusetts, for example, it’s been well-chronicled how the goal posts have continuously moved, vividly illustrating that the forces opposing school reopening are ideological, lacking a solutions-oriented agenda."
Months ago, I described "deep cleaning" as a distraction
This virus largely spreads through the air, not via surfaces
Do basic hand hygiene, absolutely
But focus on masks, ventilation and keeping air safe
I wish this guidance had come out earlier
The (been open for 4 months already) bars here in Somerville really missed an opportunity. First day of in person school for our cohort and where do the parents go to celebrate??!!
Thank you to SPESO members for continuing to demand accountability and accessibility, to the school committee for efforts to make this right, and to local press for continuing to pay attention!

@JoeCurtatone Us, too.
You can’t congratulate yourself on a pooled testing plan that then sat unused for months because you kept buildings closed.
