I'm beginning to have trouble keeping track of politicians in the same way I have trouble keeping track of pop stars and influencers.
So that person you're referring to by last name is a... candidate... for senator... of Texas?
Precautionary-principle yourself into opposing this if you must, but asking what "interest" Google has in utopian technological solutions to big problems shows a fundamental failure to understand the tech bro mind.
I want everyone to stop and ask what interest Google has in releasing mosquitoes. They’re a tech company. Not an environmental group. Not a non-profit. Not a government. A tech company. Just like Bill Gates, I don’t want them anywhere near our wildlife or nature. CC: @LeeMZeldin
@BelugaJames The idea is that a world where people have a "right" to ask out people they like is a better world, because everyone is more likely to end up with someone they like.
The most uncomfortable I've been when asked out by a stranger was my Uber driver, during the ride, and honestly it wasn't *that* uncomfortable. However, after I turned him down I'm pretty sure he gave me a bad rating.
@sympatheticopp Once, in the stands watching me play soccer, my Dad said out loud "That child must be the worst soccer player in the state of Mississippi" and the lady sitting near him was clearly shocked and offended.
My college campus had a memorial room with couches and a big flag and plaques with the names of students killed in the armed services. The student government declared they were gonna rename it the "reflection room"... to not remind students of war, or something?
@tracewoodgrains@tom_swiss Tbh my experience is all math, and writing down equations doesn't take that much time. Also typing math is harder and more annoying than writing it by hand anyway. No one types their personal notes in math class
@tom_swiss@tracewoodgrains Yes. Similar reasoning behind allowing "one sheet of notes front and back" (or similar). That's saying that they should, at some point, *think* about what should be on the sheet.
@cremieuxrecueil I have assumed that the logic is:
- women get a boost from aa
- half of everybody is women + the majority are white
- white women probably in the best position among women to take advantage
- therefore, probably more white women have gotten benefit than some smaller group
