Did some digging into @Somnia_Network DeFi this weekend and ended up on @somnialend.

Almost $1M is already supplied, but only around $87K is currently borrowed.

That difference is what caught my attention.

Theres plenty of liquidity sitting there, but borrowing activity is still relatively small.

With Somnia pushing deeper into DeFi, I’m curious to see if that gap starts closing as more users actually start borrowing against their assets.

Definitely one metric I’ll be checking again.

Everything on SomniaLend happens onchain 🟠

Every supply, every borrow, every rate change, it all executes on Somnia, in the open, verifiable by anyone.

No back-office ledger you have to trust. No black box deciding what your position is worth. The smart contracts run the same rules for everyone, and you can check the state yourself at any time.

Rates update per block. Interest accrues per block. Your position is always live and always yours to verify.

Your keys. Your crypto. Always 🟠

SomniaLend is non-custodial. The protocol never takes control of your funds. You do.

When you supply, your assets sit in audited smart contracts, not in someone's account.

Your position lives in your own wallet, and nobody but you can move it.

When do you have to repay on SomniaLend? 🟠

Whenever you want.

There's no fixed repayment date. Your borrow position stays open for as long as you keep it healthy, meaning your Health Factor stays above the liquidation threshold.

Repay a little, repay it all, or just hold the position, on your own timeline. Interest keeps accruing while it's open, so keeping an eye on your Health Factor is what matters, not a due date.

[SomniaLend @somnialend]

The difference between staking and supplying in DeFi.

Staking usually locks your tokens to help secure a network, and rewards come from the protocol itself.

Supplying on SomniaLend lends your assets into a market.

Your yield comes from real borrowers paying interest to use that liquidity, and you can withdraw whenever there's liquidity available. No lockups, no securing anything.

Same goal, put idle assets to work, but a different engine underneath.

[SomniaLend @somnialend]

What is utilization? 🟠

Utilization is how much of a market is currently being borrowed, compared to how much has been supplied.

Here’s everything you need to know ⬇️

[SomniaLend @somnialend]

It's also why you can't always withdraw everything instantly.

If most of the pool is borrowed out, withdrawals are limited to whatever liquidity is still available, until borrowers repay or new supply comes in.

One number, driving both your yield and your rate, in real time.

Why supply instead of just holding? 🟠

Holding an asset means it sits there. Supplying it means it works.

When you supply to SomniaLend, your assets earn yield from the moment they're in, paid continuously as borrowers use the liquidity.

You keep custody the whole way, and you can withdraw anytime there's available liquidity.

Same assets. Same exposure. Just no longer sitting idle.

Feature spotlight: Flash Loans 🟠

Borrow from SomniaLend with no upfront collateral, as long as it's repaid within the same transaction.

One block, in and out. If the amount plus fee isn't returned by the end, the whole transaction reverts.

Builders use them for arbitrage, liquidations, and collateral swaps, all without fronting the capital.

An advanced, developer-facing feature. Fee starts at 0.05%.

Why borrow assets? 🟠

Sometimes you want liquidity without giving up your position.

Borrowing lets you access capital to use across Somnia while your collateral stays supplied and keeps earning. You hold onto your exposure instead of selling into it.

Repay anytime, no fixed deadline, as long as your Health Factor stays healthy.
