5) @janewakefield Please review the article or discuss with a sleep or circadian expert. We absolutely do not want parents and caregivers to think 'digital devices are harmless and therefore the kids should use it before bed'!
4) @janewakefield Lastly - the dataset used for the study did not account for several critical factors, such as timing of digital device usage. This factor alone would be most important to know whether it affects sleep.
3) @janewakefield We need light exposure during the day (as part of a healthy circadian function). However the difference between 3 or 5 hours in front of screens is irrelevant for sleep.
2) @janewakefield It's the timing of light that's the most important factor in affecting sleep. Blue light at night (mostly from digital screens) disrupts melatonin and causes a delay in sleep onset. See this study; https://t.co/tfXoA5HfhI
1) @janewakefield Thanks for writing about sleep + screens (https://t.co/PU6Zit76zr)- but the article misses some very important info and mislead parents and caregivers.
Great article by @K8Silver regarding #jetlag (https://t.co/ibJPRYY7By)
The #circadian adjustment process described is exactly what our free app #Chronoshift does. It tells you how to shift your schedule 2 - 5 days before departure! Check it out at https://t.co/aB7XPFwI9h
@Vinncent nice article about jet lag (https://t.co/yZoxyqRtIg)! But the key to reducing effects is to do a little before your leave! Adjust earlier or later depending on your direction. If you need a hand with that - try our free app; https://t.co/aB7XPFf7hJ
It’s been a while, but we’re happy to be back!
