i just learned that birders use the term ‘spark bird’ to describe the bird that first sparked your interest in birds. isn’t that so nice! mine was just a house sparrow i still love those little hoppers
@evornithology They do vocalize during flyover/migration though — I’ve personally heard them nowhere near water, deep in a forest, and was very confused until someone explained that to me.
