The murderer, Vikram Digwa, had an altercation with Nowak in the pub and threatened him seriously enough that the police were called. He then went away, got a knife and met Nowak as he walked home. The police were already on their way.

Why was none of this made public? Was it even mentioned in court?

The United States government regularly funds and supports research, academic exchanges, and other engagements with overseas universities. Dishonest, corrupt institutions that engage in, or reward, scapegoating mob behavior are not desirable partners for us. This is particularly true where the purpose and effect of the scapegoating is to punish accurate journalism unearthing academic dishonesty. We are therefore reviewing any relationships we have with Ghent University.

Bad-faith idealogues will try to make this a referendum on the content of Cofnas’s scholarship – or polemical distortions of it. That’s wrong. Free speech means that controversial views are protected. And Cofnas’s views were known to Ghent University when he was hired.

The ultimate purpose of freedom of speech is to overturn lies, fraud, and false ideologies. This is precisely what Cofnas was doing, and precisely the reason his home institution wants to silence him.

Jason Arday was a serial liar and a fantasist.

He put a target on the back of every Black person with a qualification higher than a GCSE.

I know this personally.

I've spent 30 years dealing with the questions:

"Are you a real doctor?

Where did you get your qualifications?"

(I literally got asked this just last week!)

It is never-ending.

Arday's actions set us all back a generation.

Cambridge, and the entire academic establishment were complicit.

And when the lies were exposed, he seemingly took his own life, leaving his children, widow, and parents to pick up the pieces

Suicide is a tragedy that causes irretrievable damage to those left behind, and any premature death is to be mourned.

But this tragedy wasn't created by a "pernicious media".

Spare a thought for Nathan Cofnas today. Jason Arday is dead, and the campaign to blame Nathan for it is already in full swing. The media insinuations are all over the place, and Nathan is now being made to carry the weight of someone else’s death simply because he had the temerity to say out loud what everyone else was supposed to pretend not to see.

The simple truth is that Arday was handed a chair professorship at one of the most prestigious universities in the world on the back of a record that was pure fantasy. His work was riddled with plagiarism. Most comically, even the titles were plagiarized, including grammatical errors. And that is before even getting to the total vacuousness of the actual words, irrespective of the fact that they were plagiarized.

Nathan did not invent any of this, and he did not even expose it. The facts were already there. His offense was simply to point at the emperor and say he had no clothes. Except in this case, the emperor was the entire DEI establishment, and what Nathan said exposed not merely Arday’s deficiencies but the grotesque fraudulence of the system that elevated him in the first place.

And now that same DEI industrial complex is scapegoating Nathan for its own evil. I hope he has the strength to endure what is already being thrown at him, because the people doing this are plainly not going to stop.
