If anything I think the reason for the changes are there just so that it can display facial expressions without the developers having to make a new texture for each facial expression or whatever.

Because yea I know it's not the same model in the remake since it has more details added and many differences which I am fine with.

The mania one got some weird ass cyan shade and indented eyes.

The R model got the buckles on top of the shoes and less detailed hands and just overall strange looks on close inspection.

The 3DB Special Stage/Jam model are peak.
