@FrostyMog Hah now I want to know what it was but yeah, i've learned to check a variety of places if I care enough since the hater % varies from site to site
@akitoshaoku@bountyhunter294@divdot It's not really safe to assume that. Plenty of groups would find this behavior rude because they value the shared journey experience and aren't just trying to clear at all costs. What's clear is that this was the wrong group for this player
I think the mod is pretty silly but acting like FF is some hyper degenerate game you can't mention to other people is pretty ridiculous. Most players aren't on Twitter and have no idea that this stuff exists. The population using this stuff is niche in the grand scheme of the player base. They just have a lot of visibility on Twitter
No I don't think some FF players understand what it's like to have a life outside of the game sometimes. Things happen and many statics will wait around because they actually care about clearing with their group when issues come up. It's one thing if you're racing but that's not what this is
@Lhoverboyy@TrevorVictrus Yeah it shines a light on it in a big way. It's why a lot of games with big social elements end up ridiculous in one way or another whether that's an insufferable subreddit to the toxicity of games like league of counter strike. Our version is dress up sim flavored
Wanted to make a hopefully easier/better way to view #ffxiv patch notes. Check it out and lemme know your thoughts! https://t.co/KV0Hp2cXZe
It's mainly just consolidating and highlighting what I think is the most important stuff from the lodestone in a way that's a big easier to read and navigate
@gandalfsoda@Xepahr Ignoring the fact that FF has always had a variety of fashion, the overwhelming majority of available glam is not modern/tech stuff. You have no shortage of robes and most people might say that they add too many (magic gear is struggling for variety lol)
- fits the lore
- lots of people rp to varying degrees
- lots of people only play for dress-up and gpose (screenshots)
- it looks good and a lot of people don't care about the setting (which also works well with the first point since it is lore accurate)
- SE makes more and puts them in the paid shop because it prints money
Maybe best overall but outside of story, music, housing, glam, and maybe high end raid design, the other elements are pretty subjective and competitive with other games in the genre.
Lots of great contenders for combat, new world gathering was kinda peak, pvp has a few games, progression is not the best by any means especially if you want to play more than a single job/role, player expression within gameplay, and plenty of other categories. FF is just great or at least reliably decent overall in a lot of areas but best in only a few.
That few just happens to be a lot more than most other games can say
I think the game had a lot of ridiculous achievements but I also wish that people would just explore and try things out for fun and not because a menu tells them it's tracking that they did a thing tbh. I've always preferred achievements to be based on accomplishing things with effort/skill and not just mindless timesinks like killing a million hunts.
I think it creates a healthier mindset too but the mindless grind achievements keep addicted players subbed so we'll probably always have them
@xIlyria Generally agree however it's worth mentioning this depends in the region a lot. Savage clear rates are much higher in Japan (and iirc at least some tiers over a majority of the playerbase at least try it out even if they don't full clear)
@Aishtha_@WolvenSoul@xIlyria It's all relative really. Some people will value week 1, month 1, or on patch. What matters most IMO is clearing at a rate you're comfortable with unless you're trying to get into stronger statics that value higher clear speeds
@xIlyria@Nuttz003 Yeah it's almost like some people still remain that play games for fun and experience and not just the brief dopamine hit of collecting things they don't actually care about
This might be controversial but I really donโt like the uwu-ification of Raha. As much as I love his cute moments, I fear heโs been watered down to a cute cat meme within the fandom and the game itself and I think it does a disservice to his character.
It's not hard it's just time consuming. Most people look up macros and melds. It's very easy to craft but it can be boring to enough people that not everybody does it. It also heavily depends on your local market since prices vary. Everything will be cheaper on a world with more raiders but also we are long past the "I need crafted raid gear to enter savage" phase. Anybody getting in now is late or just buying gear to catch up for story for the most part. Also it's so late in the expansion cycle that a lot of diehard crafters that cared cashed in already and are not bothering to do it now so the supply might be less which can raise prices
@xNanagi One of the most fun experiences I've had was taking sprout friends through extremes with a full friend group running it blind for those who hadn't done them before in order of release with arr
it's hard IMO without a group of existing friends but honestly could be a cool opportunity for a sprout questing buddy tool lol just to allow it to feel more social.
The awkward part of being a catch-up player is you're just blasting through expansions and not having the multi year patch breaks to "figure out what else to do" in your free time with the various forms of side content.
