Today's study. The first attempt was so bad that I had to try again lol. I liked it, but I think the lips are a bit crooked. It was so hard to paint this... But I think I'm slowly learning!

Painted this while following a guide. I liked it, but there is still so much to improve, Leaving the eye shape aside (which doesn't look good lol), a lot is missing in regards to speculars and edge control... Why is rendering a painting so hard??
Sketching something more "stylized", for a change of pace. I'm finding it to be very fun to just doodle something without any expectations. Recently I was feeling a bit stagnated, as if I am not learning in the pace I should, maybe it's time to go into tutorial hell again lol
Well, likeness aside (that definitely didn't work lol), it was pretty fun to use a more vivid colour palette and work with this kind of lighting. It's still lacking that finishing touch, so the same issues persist tho. Time to learn how to finish a portrait!
Tried to paint something, but it still feels "muddy" and undefined. Maybe it's because I get confused when I need to do the render, so I just leave it as is, and it ends up looking unfinished... The features, for example, could be a lot more polished. I need to learn how to do it
Today's 10-minute gesture. I think I used the airbrush a bit too much and could also have used some highlights with a white brush... In any case, I hope I can draw more tomorrow, work has been a nightmare over the past few days, so I didn't have much time to practice.
I think this grayscale painting looks a lot better than the first... The previous one felt very muddy/blended, maybe I used the airbrush a little bit too much lol. I'm still finding it very hard to draw edges and specially to try and make clothes believable only with value.
My first grayscale portrait. I think it's mediocre at best LOL. I could have spent more time and tried to properly render the hair and other features, but I don't think I could improve them by much with my current abilities... Anyways, at least I learned a lot from doing it hahah
