A lot of you #rangerfc fans are messaging me due to transfer anxiety 😥

Beyond the countless reports: Listen your manager confirmed they were working on a signing, “Having more pace and invention up the field will be massive for us.” Tell me your recruiting Min-us without telling me you’re recruiting Minsu. 🔥

Finally, Girona put up a not so subtle graphic that has the word “FINAL” over Min-su’s head as if to say it was his FINAL game. Half joking. 😂😂

Relax Gers, deal will be done soon. 💙🤍

[Joel Kim @KNTFootball]

Great week for Korean footy. 🔥

Kang-in w/ the debut goal.
Hwang In-beom w/ the debut assist.
Oh and Cho w/ the debut goals for this season in Euro competition.

Not to mention some exciting prospects transferring in our Kims. 🫡🇰🇷

Korean social media jumping on top of #rangersfc & what could be the most epic Korean derby 👀

1st pic: “2nd highest transfer in club history, Scotland bound Kim Min-su”

2nd: “If Kim transfers, a Korean derby set within the 120 year rivalry between #CelticFC & Rangers” 😎

[Joel Kim @KNTFootball]

I’m noticing ppl talk about how Kim Min-su is not “proven” 🙄

A bit of a casual take if you ask me. Kim Min-su has had to prove himself at EVERY level in Spain. 🇪🇸

✅ At 18 with Girona B: 13 goals in 34 matches.
✅ 2nd youngest Korean to make a La Liga/Champions league debut with the senior Girona side after Kang-in Lee.
✅ Sent on loan to FC Andorra at 19: 40 Segunda matches, 6 goals, 4 assists.
✅ Just looking like a beast and feat. with the Girona FC 1st team this season.

He’s honestly delivered in everything demanded of him at every stage in his career. 😤

Dont get me wrong—a move to #rangersfc is a big move, especially being the 2nd biggest transfer in club history at €10m. But Kim’s no stranger to challenges and this is whyI have confidence he’ll do well as a Ger. 💙🤍

[Joel Kim @KNTFootball]

Add @FrazFletcher of Team Talk to the voices reporting on the progress of this #rangersfc transfer. Looks like the move will be made for around £8m in installments. 🤝

Today’s match vs Cordoba may be Kim’s last with #Gironafc and he may be held out. 🙏

🚨 🇰🇷 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐒𝐏𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇 | 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐔𝟐𝟑 𝐊𝐍𝐓 𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐀𝐂𝐊𝐄𝐑𝐒

With the Asian games coming up feat. our U23 team, for fun I decided to rank our U23 attackers on our team. This includes people who didn't make the final team.

I did this to make a point (which i'll share at the end) but also to be a resource to those interested and wondering who are the up and coming Korean players who will be playing in Europe and could possibly find their way to your local club.

Here's my personal opinion of where the players are currently at this moment:

1⃣ Bae Jun-ho (22) Stoke City

I have Bae Jun-ho at the top of this list.

He's the most polished creator and player overall, despite lacking in G/As. To be fair, he is an excellent chance creator, it's just many times he's let down by his teammates. If you look at his action with the National team, with stronger players, the proof is in the pudding where he is 6 G/A (2G/4A) in 13 appearances.

2⃣ Kim Min-su (20) Girona FC

Kim Min-su comes in at #2. He's incredibly technical, quick, direct and comfortable playing in multiple attacking positions. More importantly, he's 2. La Liga tested as last season on loan at Andorra, he put up 6 goals and 4 assists in 40 Segunda División appearances. Impressive production for a 20-year-old playing his first full season at that level. For me, the combination of technical ability, versatility, production and his development in Spain gives him one of the highest ceilings on this list.

3⃣ Lee Hyun-ju (23) FC Arouca

Lee Hyun-ju comes in at #3 as one of the most polished players on this list.

In his first season with Arouca, he produced 5G/3A in 25 Primeira Liga appearances, after already accumulating 52 appearances and 7 goals in the 2. Bundesliga. He’s technically gifted, intelligent between the lines and increasingly providing end product. Some below him may have higher ceilings, but Lee’s proven European production puts him ahead right now.

4⃣ Yang Min-hyeok (20) SPURS / KVC WESTERLO

Yang Min-hyeok comes in at #4, but in terms of pure attacking ceiling he could eventually be much higher. He exploded onto the scene with 12 goals in 38 K League 1 matches at just 18, earning K League Young Player of the Year, before moving to Spurs. He's since gained valuable Championship experience, including 2G/1A in 14 matches for QPR and another 3 goals in 16 appearances for Portsmouth. He soon was loaned to Coventry, but due to bad luck he just couldn't find time on the pitch. Regardless, he's explosive, direct and fearless attacking defenders 1v1. The talent is obvious; now it's about refining his decision-making and turning those flashes into consistent production in Europe, especially with KVC Westerlo.

5⃣ Lee Young-jun (23) Grasshopper Club Zürich

I have Lee Young-jun at #5. He's one of Korea's more intriguing young 9s. At 6'4", his size immediately stands out, but he's more than just a target man—he moves well for his frame, can hold up play and has a real presence inside the box. He produced 6 goals and 5 assists in 2 seasons with his club. He's also already shown his finishing ability internationally, scoring 4 goals at the 2023 U20 World Cup and 3 goals at the 2024 U23 Asian Cup. At 23, the next step is turning that promise into more consistent production, but his combination of size, movement and finishing makes him an intriguing future option at 9 for the KNT.

6⃣ Yoon Do-young (19) Brighton / FC Magdeburg

I have Yoon Do-young at #6. He's an extremely technical left-footed winger who's creative, elusive and confident taking defenders on. After limited minutes with Excelsior, he really started showing his ability at Dordrecht, recording 2 Olimpicos and at least 3 assists in 15 league appearances before Brighton moved him up another level with a loan to 2. Bundesliga side Magdeburg this season. This season will be the biggest challenge for Yoon.

7⃣ Park Seung-soo (19) Newcastle United

Park Seung-soo is probably the biggest wildcard on this list. Before even turning 18, he had already made 28 senior appearances for Suwon, becoming one of the youngest goalscorers in Korean professional football history at the time. Newcastle brought him over in 2025, and he followed that up with 2G/3A in 16 U21 matches last season. He's quick, explosive, loves attacking defenders and has the physical tools you want from a modern winger. He's still raw compared to the players above him, but there is a LOT to work with here.

8⃣ Kim Myung-jun (20) Genk

Kim Myung-jun rounds out my list, but #8 shouldn't be viewed as a knock on him. Besides Lee Young-jun, he's the only other true 9 here and was one of Korea's standout youth strikers, scoring 9 goals in 23 U17 appearances. His transition to Belgium has taken some time, though, with 1G/2A in 17 Challenger Pro League appearances last season for Jong Genk. He's got the movement and striker instincts, but compared to the six above him, I need to see the European production catch up with the potential.
__________
The important caveat I'd add to the whole post is: this is a ranking of where I rate them today, not necessarily their ultimate ceilings. With players this young, the ranking could look completely different a year from now.

Of all the players here, Yoon Do-young and Kim Min-su did not make the team.

And finally here is my honest confession; part of the reason I felt inspired to do this is because I thought it pretty unjust Kim Min-su didn't make the team. He's number 2 on my list only behind Bae Jun-ho and I personally find this unacceptable he's not on the roster. Wild and peak incompetence and something that really lessens my trust in Lee Min-seong to lead our group. If you can't leverage/manage talent like that in this kind of tournament you shouldn't be coaching. Mark my words, Kim is a special special talent. I will be watching every game of his this season.

Anyways, if you've read this far, thanks for reading!
