I think it’s the Trump effect pushing moderate left to vote far left and moderate right to stay home. This is a state that voted for Paul Lepage before Janet Mills so fairly extreme political oscillations aren’t unusual. Also the populism Trump ushered in is now bi-partisan. Collin’s is a policy/record driven candidate, Platner is purely emotion/grievance based. Like Mahmdani and Trump he’s riding the populist wave and when the mob is riled up a Nazi tattoo isn’t going to move the needle.
Tom Steyer keeps running around saying that it’s unfair that billionaires like him can buy our democracy, then spending hundreds of millions dollars to do just that, then failing to get elected, and then repeating all the same lines the next time around. It’s extremely funny.
This letter from 60 Minutes’ new EP, Nick Bilton, is so telling and transparent.
It’ll be hilarious to listen to anyone defend Pelley after reading this. And when they do, they will do so dishonestly.
Letter from Bilton to Pelley below.
Leftoid media silos are being taken apart as new media pressures and consumer decline force media companies to either abandon their ideological monopolies or die. Some people will struggle with this.
UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood says the government will not ban Sikh knives like the one used in Henry Nowak’s murder: “Carrying a knife for the purpose of religious observance is one thing - using it is quite another.”
Still objectively funny that the most efficient immigration crackdown in recent years was not in Texas or Arizona, but in Martha's Vineyard, where the unexpected arrival of ~50 Venezuelans created a state of emergency. Martha's had them rounded up & shipped out in 48 hrs flat.
I will soon be introducing a bill to give the public a 50% ownership stake in the largest AI companies in America.
This would guarantee that the trillions created by AI are used to improve the lives of all of us — and block oligarch decisions that harm the American people.
It’s like a dark, Monty Python sketch. “I’ve been stabbed!”
“I don’t think you have, mate.”
*Victim is handcuffed, perpetrator is given a handshake and a tip of the Bobby cap by two fawning female coos*
the Henry Nowak murder sounds like a completely outrageous parody of the british criminal justice system. it's hard to believe it's real.
- native Britons can't legally carry a breadknife
- for some reason Sikhs get a special carveout and can carry "religious use" knives of any length. even over 50 cm
- 18 year old boy Henry Nowak is walking home peacefully, is fatally stabbed by Vickrum Digwa with his "ceremonial" kirpan
- Digwa claims to the police that he was racially abused and the responding police immediately believe him and shackle the dying Nowak, ignoring Digwa and his co-conspirators
- Nowak informs the officers that he has been stabbed and the officer says "You've been stabbed? Whereabouts? I don't think you have, mate."
- the officers do not check on his condition, cuffing him roughly as he bleeds out. as they read him his rights, he dies.
- Digwa's mother, Kiran Kaur arrives at the scene and takes the knife with her, attempting to conceal it
- Digwa's brother Gurpreet Digwa made the 999 call and attempted to concoct a defense for his brother, claiming he had been the victim of a racial attack
- Despite the "life sentence" the court meted out, Digwa will be eligible for parole at age 43
- there have been no consequences whatsoever for the police officers that shackled Nowak and left him to drown in his own blood while his killers watched. none of the officers have even been named
each fact is more radicalizing than the last.
How many more young British men and women are going to die? Bleeding in the street, alone and terrified. Cuffed, in a pool of their own blood. Begging for help.
How many more parents are going to stand there, and say that they couldn’t help their children in their dying moments? Apologising to their dead children because they couldn’t stop it from happening?
How many more?
This is going to happen again, and again, and again.
It’s happening right now, in every city across the country.
Rape. Sexual torture. Even worse. Mass industrial abuse of British children.
Henry Nowak is one of thousands and thousands and thousands.
Innocent young men and women put through the most unimaginable pain, because our country has failed to do what needs to be done.
Because children have been sacrificed to death in order to appease foreign cultures that have no place in our country.
I have had enough - of all of it.
I am going to look back in anger.
I urge you all to do the same.
Susan Collins's latest financial report just came out.
A staggering one-third of her money raised this quarter came directly from AIPAC.
Senator Collins is bought and paid for by Benjamin Netanyahu, and she votes accordingly.
A year and a half after the fire and this is the total of all the framing that has gone up in all of Malibu. Remember what I said was going to happen from my hotel room the day after the fire
