@operarocksme @moberhau @TimPatMad I think I’ve only cut myself while cutting the flesh of the avocado, not removing the seed! Obviously keeping your hands clean and dry, and paying attention to what you’re doing are both crucial. But then most of my accidents are mandolin related. 😂
@TimPatMad @operarocksme I will also say that using the part of the blade closest to the handle to cut into and “grab” the seed helps, because I feel like I have the most control over that area of the knife. If it helps, I have cut myself many times, but never doing this! 😂
@TimPatMad @operarocksme This! Once you have the seed on the knife, you can hold it over your trash can and use your fingers over the blunt, back edge of the knife to push the seed off into the garbage.

if there is one thing @SopranoJane & i could impart to high school & college-aged music students now, it would be: if you think a song is JUST about a bird, a flower, or a tree?
@ericasipes @bathorykitsz Exactly. Focusing on intervals alone if you’re reading at tempo feels like counting the trees while you’re driving through a giant forest. It just isn’t efficient for me.
@bathorykitsz @ericasipes That is probably where focusing on intervals is most useful, but I do think my mind still focuses on patterns in that repertoire (rhythmic patterns, units of pitches, etc)
