@nickgerli1 Its a bad time to buy. I think if I wait 2 or 3 more years I can get the same home for a better price. Will continue saving and investing until then.
Many potential home buyers could buy today if they wanted. But we know its a bad deal right now
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed Everyone needs to live within their means, regardless of income. Thats a hard lesson to learn and its why so many people with mid 6 figure incomes still live paycheck to paycheck.
Low income earners are making poor decisions if they decide to buy expensive cars.
@DemonFramed Easy mode is easy. But as a gamer, I do enjoy hard mode content. Sadly I come from a broke family and have been playing on hard mode IRL. But the game can be beaten. I hope to retire with close to 5mil earned on Hard Mode
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed Okay but you are using this as an argument for needing a "New" car instead of a used one? That new car monthly payment probably costs the same, if not more, that the price of a tow
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed You dont need a brand new car to drive to a job outside of town. Could have bought a cheaper vehicle, and made smarter financial moves.
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed You bought a brand new car, right off the lot, while your monthly income was roughly 2k per month??
Ill bite, and ill even assume youre telling the truth. But if thats the case, it was one of the dumbest financial decisions you could have made.
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed Well, id be surprised if you can find even a single person who makes 2k per month, also owns a new 50k car, and also cant afford to fix a flat tire. This person is a hypothetical, and most likely doesnt even exist in the real world.
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed I dont know if you're trolling, or arguing for the sake of arguing, or if you personally feel like you have a bad job. But ive lived paycheck to paycheck before near poverty.
It takes hard work, and sacrifice. And during that period, the 50k new car is out of the question.
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed Worked 55 miles away from home driving that old beater, because I found a decent factory job at the time paying 27 dollars an hour.
Many years, and experience and work history later, I job hopped multiple times and now make over 6 figures. That car was a stepping stone
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed That 300k miles camry I mentioned earlier I paid like 3k for and drove it 100 miles a day for YEARS. Check engine light on the whole time. It was my beater. I job hopped like 4 times and doubled my salary thanks to that old beater
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed Lets go back to my very first post. Owning a "New" car is often not a part of the equation.
If someone is making less than 2k per paycheck, or 8 bucks an hour, a "new" car should not be part of their equation.
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed 2000 per month is way below average. Its barely average 20 years ago.
I also have a family of 4. My household income is average at best for a 4 person household
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed Im not too worried about it tbh. We live a very modest lifestyle and try to save around 2000 per month. Even if unexpected maintenance shows up, we will be able to weather the storm
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed Im really confused why youre even arguing down this tangent. Lets back up.
Are you trying to say that only new 50k cars are reliable?
@Supercitizen_x9@DemonFramed Ive had it for a little over 2 years. Im kinda lazy when it comes to oil changes. But I dont need to drive much.
My old car was a 2000 Toyota camry. Was approaching 300k miles. I needed a newer vehicle (SUV) when I had my first kid
