@CAevs You’re lacking knowledge and ill advised if you believe breeding Snipe numbers haven’t declined. Additionally Woodcock have disappeared from two woods local to me within the last 10 years.

@LandguardNot Well said. We have a choice, Corvids (and badgers) etc or sensitive ground nesters. I watch LRP on a local pit disappear every year with a crow watching on.

@stuartpengs @adriawildlife And each year badgers are encroaching on the fells. I’ve watched them above 1000ft, wandering around in daylight. The breeding woodcock are a distant memory with a single roding bird seen in an upland wood next to managed land.

@houndtrail @stuartpengs @PegFluff @RCMtuning Loads and definitely increasing in NE Wales, saw one in broad daylight the other week. Most local woodlands now have a sett. A few good quiet woods that are perfect habitat for Woodcock, but nothing. Why does wildlife trust have the badger as it’s emblem again….
