Just saw Sorry, Baby and I can’t stop thinking about it.
It’s not loud or cathartic—it’s quiet, haunting, achingly human. Eva Victor doesn’t give us a trauma narrative—she gives us a mirror. Not every film changes your life. Some just remind you you’re not alone. Incredible 🤍
I’ve seen a lot of films that explore trauma, but nothing quite captures the raw, unfiltered aftermath quite like Sorry, Baby. It’s one of the most essential films of the 21st century - and I don’t say that lightly
"A few words about Sorry, Baby … I wanted to tell a story about the intimacy and romance of friendship, how living with a cat can save your life, how a sandwich can make a day better. I wanted to make a film about a person desperately trying to heal, everyday."

Sorry, Baby is one of the best movies of the year. This is a story that everyone needs to watch and understand. The trauma from a difficult subject matter and the questions from this film speaks volumes. Eva Victor stars, wrote and directed this movie. It’s one hell of a debut.
“Utterly captivating, entirely unique.” (@latimes)
Eva Victor’s SORRY, BABY is a @NYTimes Critic’s Pick, Certified Fresh 🍅and now playing in select theaters nationwide!
SORRY, BABY is a tender, beautifully crafted film. Eva Victor is an incredible writer, director, and actor and she delivers a deeply thoughtful and compassionate portrayal of trauma. Despite its heavy theme, the film is surprisingly funny—you’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and I truly couldn’t recommend it enough.
Can’t say enough good about SORRY, BABY. A touching and truly singular vision that sensitively - but confidently - explores the highs and lows following something so tragic. In a year of great films, this one really stands out!
Eva Victor is a revelation as the writer, director and magnetic star of this non linear literary film. In one scene Victor’s character, Agnes looks quietly around the office she just moved into and I realized that tears were spilling down my face. SORRY, BABY is a special film.
“But I can still listen and not be scared.” 🥲
@evavictor’s SORRY, BABY is tremendous. genuinely very funny, but also heartbreaking
the structure of the film is delightful; loved the real characters explored, and how we have to deal with the inevitable messiness of our lives
SORRY, BABY is a perfect film. Utterly confident filmmaking thanks to Eva Victor’s control in front of & behind the camera. Exceptional screenplay, direction & performance. A true triple threat. You’ll laugh out loud & cry your eyes out. My favorite of film 2025. Don’t miss it.
Sorry, Baby is wonderful. Eva Victor crafts a deeply-felt, genuinely funny film about the non-linear, unsatisfying, stifling journey that trauma forces us into, with strong command of tone and script. Her performance is equally assured, quiet but powerful. One of the year’s best.
Debut director Eva Victor had a tricky line to walk in pulling off SORRY, BABY - mixing empathy with comedy in confronting a young woman's trauma - but she succeeds spectacularly. I wanted to see if the hype from Sundance & Cannes was real. Believe me, it is. #SorryBaby
