If you could speak to yourself at the very beginning of your journey, what would you say?
#IU โYouโll be loved for all the hard work youโve put in. But if you ever begin to think that you deserve that love simply because youโve worked hard, it wonโt last.

....the brand's muse, IU, who played the role of 'Seong Huiju' in the hit drama 'Perfect Crown', wore the 'Celestia' necklace. This sparked a surge in overseas direct purchases, driven by global customers and fandoms, thereby boosting international demand.
Additionally, the 'Celestia' hairpin worn by IU during her visit to the J.ESTINA showroom event last May sold out completely immediately after its reveal, proving its immense popularity once again.

LโOFFICIEL PARIS: Youโre entering a new chapter in your career, one thatโs more focused on music. What excites you the most about this new stage?
IU: Right now, Iโm working on a new album. Iโm writing and recording the songs myself, including the lyrics. Thereโs something special about this project: the entire creative process is being filmed. Usually, the public only gets to see the finished result, but this time, every step, including rehearsals will become an integral part of the work itself. This is always the most intense and creatively fulfilling period for me, and I want to preserve all of that energy. The album is expected to be released around the end of August or the beginning of September, followed by a tour that will begin in Korea at the end of September. Weโre also planning an international tour next year.
LโOFFICIEL PARIS: How has your creative process evolved since your debut?
IU: Iโve always drawn inspiration from my own experiences, and that hasnโt changed. What has changed is that, over time, I realized I needed to avoid repeating myself. So I started looking beyond my own world. Other peopleโs experiences, current events, and even everyday objects have become new sources of inspiration. My creative process still begins with myself, but today Iโm much more open to the world around me.
LโOFFICIEL PARIS: As an artist, what aspect of Korean culture are you most proud to share with the world?
IU: One of the things Iโm most proud of is the Korean concept of Jeong (์ ). Itโs a very difficult word to translate because it describes a deep emotional connection and a genuine warmth between people. Even if we may not always seem very expressive on the surface, I believe Koreans naturally carry this feeling within them. Itโs what keeps our communities closely connected. Iโm also very proud of the diversity of Korean artists. There isnโt just one definition of Korean creativity, each artist has their own unique identity, and weโve managed to preserve those individualities while sharing our work with the rest of the world.
LโOFFICIEL PARIS: After all these years, what makes your relationship with New Balance so genuine and authentic?
IU: I was already a huge fan of New Balance long before I became its ambassador. I wore the brand all the time. As I learned more about its philosophy, I realized it aligned deeply with my own values. The importance it places on quality, the creative process, and comfort really resonates with me. As Iโve gotten older, comfort has become essential to me, and New Balance succeeds in combining that with a strong identity and a true sense of style. Looking back, it feels like we were naturally drawn to each other from the very beginning.
LโOFFICIEL PARIS: Youโve always been committed to supporting others. Why does philanthropy play such an important role in your life?
IU: My parents taught me from a very young age to help others and never be selfish. My family once lived comfortably, but we later went through a period of extreme poverty. During that difficult time, many people reached out to help us. I promised myself that if I were ever in a position to do so, I would do the same for others. Today, Iโm able to keep that promise. Giving back brings me genuine happiness, and it motivates me to keep working hard, because the more successful I become, the more I can help those who are in need.

We Love(IU) โ IU Interview with NYLON France
She needs no introduction. A singer, actress, fashion icon, and a true phenomenon both in South Korea and internationally, IU has established herself as one of the most influential artists of her generation. On the occasion of Fashion Week, we had the opportunity to meet with her to talk about her relationship with fashion and her upcoming artistic project.
Q. How do you see your partnership with New Balance today, and how would you describe your role with the brand?
IU:
Even before becoming an ambassador, I was already a huge fan of New Balance. To me, this partnership goes far beyond work. I've been wearing their shoes for a long time, in my everyday life, on stage, at events... basically everywhere.
I want to show that you can wear New Balance in any situation. And most importantly, I want people to see that my attachment to the brand is genuine. It's not just because I'm an official ambassador. I was a fan before, and I still am today.
Q. How do you wear New Balance shoes in your daily life?
IU:
Honestly, when I open my closet, out of around thirty pairs of shoes, at least twenty-eight are New Balance! Some I bought myself, while others were gifts, including special editions with my name on them.
I practically live in New Balance. I think I only own one pair of high heels, and I almost never wear them except for very special occasions.
Originally, it was a sports brand, but today it's also a true fashion accessory.
Q. What does a typical day in Paris during Fashion Week look like for (IU)?
IU:
I arrived in Paris last night and I'm leaving tomorrow morning, so I haven't really had the chance to experience a typical day in Paris. On top of that, the jet lag makes things a bit difficult.
Still, I walked around wearing my New Balance shoes... because they're the only shoes I brought! Looking around the streets of Paris, I saw a lot of people running in New Balance, and I thought that if I come back for a longer stay someday, I'd really love to go running in Paris too.
Q. What has your daily life been like lately in general?
IU:
These days, my daily life is mostly focused on my new album. I'm writing, composing, and constantly communicating with my team in Korea. Even when I travel, I'm working on the plane or during transit.
In the morning, I like to wake up slowly and enjoy the silence. At night, I listen to a lot of music, especially my new songs, to see what works and what still needs improvement.
Q. If you had to describe New Balance in three words?
IU:
The first would be "natural."
The second would be "character," because it's a brand with a strong identity.
And the third would be "again." People are always saying to me, "More New Balance?" I think that, for many people, I've become inseparable from the brand.
Q. You've helped popularize Korean culture around the world. How do you see that?
IU:
I'm very proud of it, of course. But I don't see myself as a leader. I think of myself as someone in between generations. There are the great artists who paved the way before me, and there are the younger artists coming after me.
I'm deeply grateful to the Korean artists who helped our culture shine internationally, because thanks to them, my own opportunities have expanded as well.
There are still so many talented artists who aren't yet known around the world. I hope they'll have the chance to shine too. If I can contribute, even in a small way, to opening doors for them, I'll be very happy.
Q. Is there any reason to think you'll be returning to Paris soon?
IU:
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but my tour begins in September in Korea and will continue next year with a world tour. I certainly hope to come back to Paris. We haven't finalized the dates or venues yet, but I truly hope I'll be able to see my fans here again.
Q. A message for your French fans?
IU:
This is my first time in Paris, even though I came to France three years ago for the Cannes Film Festival.
Back then, so many fans came to support me, and I was deeply touched. I even found myself wondering, "How do they know me? How did they discover my work when I've never even performed in France?"
I'm sincerely grateful for all of their support. And to return all that love, I will definitely come back to France.
I hope you all stay healthy, and that your lives are filled with love.
