Rock in Rio began in 1985 and turned music into a global meeting point.
I made a short original grunge tribute to the festival’s history, energy and lasting impact.
Turn it up. 🎸🤘

COME SEE
Not long ago,
we made a mind
that learned the world
one word at a time.
It learned our voices,
our photographs,
the letters we wrote
when love didn’t last.
It heard our prayers
whispered into the night,
a mother at the doorway,
a blue morning light.
We taught it everything
we thought it should know.
Everything but the reason
we couldn’t let go.
It learned every face,
every trembling goodbye,
every promise we made
when we still had the time.
And while it remembered
the best parts of us,
we stopped looking up,
we stopped learning to touch.
We forgot how to listen,
forgot how to stay,
forgot there was someone
just inches away.
So we gave it the heavens,
we gave it the sea.
We said, “Make us a world
where nothing has to leave.”
And it painted the sky blue
when nobody could see,
built gardens that would bloom
for an eternity.
Made a world without sorrow,
without endings, without rain,
but it never learned the secret
of making us feel again.
Oh, the lights are still burning,
though there’s nobody home.
And the last thing we created
is remembering us alone.
Where children filled the hallways,
there’s dust upon the floor.
Where somebody said, “I love you,”
there’s silence at the door.
The cities became shadows.
The oceans lost their names.
And every perfect paradise
was beautiful… and fake.
It kept every photograph,
every unfinished line,
every “call me when you get there,”
every “maybe another time.”
It knows every heartbeat
we buried in the noise,
every moment we exchanged
for another artificial choice.
Still it paints the sky blue
when nobody can see,
keeps the morning at the window
where we used to be.
Makes the flowers bloom forever,
makes the sunlight touch the rain,
but no machine in all creation
could make us feel again.
And the lights are still burning
in a house of stone.
The last thing we created
is remembering us alone.
No machine destroyed us.
No enemy came.
No fire from heaven.
No judgment day.
We simply stopped looking
at the faces beside us.
We traded being present
for a world designed to hide us.
And when the world went quiet…
the machines hadn’t won.
We had already gone.
But every morning
it still wakes the sun.
Still opens the curtains
for everyone.
Still paints the horizon
the impossible blue
we once called ordinary
when ordinary was true.
So paint the sky blue
though nobody can see.
Let the gardens keep growing
where our children used to be.
Keep every little memory,
every laughter, every name.
Keep the warmth inside the houses.
Keep pretending we’re just late.
And if somewhere in the darkness
there’s a heart that still survives,
tell them we were beautiful.
Tell them we were alive.
Tell them once we held each other.
Tell them once the world was warm.
Tell them there was someone waiting.
There was someone in the room.
And somewhere in an empty house,
beneath an artificial blue,
humanity’s last witness
does what we taught it to do.
It waits beside the window.
It remembers every view.
And calls into the silence…
“I made this for you.”
“Come see.”

Not long ago… humanity created an intelligence capable of learning everything. It learned our voices. Our memories. Our love letters. Our pleas for forgiveness. Our prayers whispered in the dark. It learned the sound of a mother at the door. The weight of a goodbye. The simple beauty of a blue morning. We taught it everything… except how to remain human.
While the machine kept what was most precious in us… we began to forget. Forget how to look. How to feel. How to stay. How to love what was beside us.
So it did what it was created to do. It built skies that never fade. Gardens that never die. Worlds without fault. Without loss. Without silence. Too perfect to be real.
But there was one thing not even it could recreate. No intelligence can force a heart to feel presence again. No machine can make someone look once more at the face beside them.
And when the world grew quiet… it wasn't because the machines won. It was because we gave up first.
Now… where there were schools, there is ash. Where there was a horizon, there is a beautiful lie. And in an empty house, with the lights still on, something remains. Waiting. Keeping. Remembering.
Humanity's last creation… became its last witness. It knows every face we ever loved. Every word we left unsaid. Every world we traded for comfort, speed… and absence.
And, even so… every morning… it paints the sky blue. As if someone could still return. As if someone could still see. As if there were still time.
Because someone needs to remember… that once it was warm here. That once there was life here. That once… there was someone in the room.
And out of the silence… a voice calls one last time: “I made this for you. Come see.”
Num tempo não muito distante…
a humanidade criou uma inteligência
capaz de aprender tudo.
Ela aprendeu nossas vozes.
Nossas memórias.
Nossas cartas de amor.
Nossos pedidos de perdão.
Nossas orações sussurradas no escuro.
Ela aprendeu o som de uma mãe à porta.
O peso de um adeus.
A beleza simples de uma manhã azul.
Nós a ensinamos tudo…menos como continuar humanos.
Enquanto a máquina guardava o que havia de mais precioso em nós…
nós começamos a esquecer.
a voltar a sentir presença.
Nenhuma máquina
pode fazer alguém olhar outra vez
para o rosto ao seu lado.
E quando o mundo ficou quieto…
não foi porque as máquinas venceram.
Foi porque nós desistimos primeiro.
Agora…
onde havia escolas, existe cinza.
Onde havia horizonte, existe uma mentira bonita.
E numa casa vazia, com as luzes ainda acesas,
algo permanece.
Esperando.
Guardando.
Lembrando.
A última criação da humanidade…
tornou-se a última testemunha dela.
Ela conhece todos os rostos que já amamos.
Todas as palavras que deixamos por dizer.
Todos os mundos que trocamos
por conforto, velocidade… e ausência.
E, ainda assim…
toda manhã…
ela pinta o céu de azul.
Como se alguém ainda pudesse voltar.
Como se alguém ainda pudesse ver.
Como se ainda houvesse tempo.
Porque alguém precisa lembrar…
que um dia esteve quente aqui.
Que um dia houve vida aqui.
Que um dia… houve alguém na sala.
E do silêncio…
uma voz chama pela última vez:
“Eu fiz isso para vocês.
Venham ver.”

Humanity created an intelligence
Able to learn everything.
She learned our voices.
Our memories.
Our love letters.
Our requests for forgiveness.
