I have another take on Golesh’s after game presser. And I’m writing this after readying Cole Pinkston’s excellent article. Golesh is playing a long term turnaround and completely change the culture. Our players are bought in and are playing tough even when they’re getting their butts kicked. No one quit during that game. Kiffin is a talented coach and he’s just in the portal buying incredible talent. It’s a plan that works and works well. But you need to win championships with that plan or they don’t keep supporting you. Auburn isn’t a top destination yet but players are beginning to see what it can be. If we can hold on to our dudes this portal season we have a much better core to build from. Golesh had to bring in 40 players last portal. There just aren’t enough quality players in the portal to have a wholesale rebuild in the portal if you’re not already a top program with a marquee coach at the helm. Golesh is not really a known coach to a lot folks yet but the more I get to know the dude the more I like him. We need to let him cook. @KevinScarbinsky@ColePinkston@colecubelic@Auburn_Football
@TattedIrishGuy@Fndtion_Eagle Golesh had to bring in 40 from the portal and about 25 from high school. That’s on the new roster of 105 players. That’s a lot of new dudes. That’s one of the reasons he had the Auburn Band come in and teach them the Auburn fight song. 65 dudes didn’t know it. @auburnbands
Auburn HC Alex Golesh says that OL Tai Buster could be fully back at practice within the next couple of weeks
"We're excited to get him back here soon."
@Mopar3513@barnsalot I think we have green in some of the matchups against Ole Miss. we had zero green against LSU. Now let’s see if our coaches can out coach Ole Miss and come up with a game plan that can win.
If we can steal one it would be an incredible season. We need to get back to being a team that wins the “games that you’re supposed to win” and occasionally wins a “game that you’re supposed to lose”. I think supposed to lose is Ole Miss, State and Bama. Preseason, State was a “supposed to win” and has now changed to a road game in a tough environment with dangerous team. We better win Arky and Samford, and need to beat State.
@austinkeener98@ColePinkston And paid $93 million for a marquee Head Coach who is a gifted offensive coach but brings a lot of baggage with known potential personality “issues”
Yeah. We got beat out for some good dudes. Don’t know why, maybe we didn’t have enough cash to fill all the needs? Also, I think all the Kentucky dudes on the line are one and done. Only one year of eligibility left. We only have one oline who is out of eligibility this year. Everyone else has more time left. Should (?) be better next year at least for the base foundation. Plus all these top high school dudes coming in on the o line too.
Nope. We lined up and beat them. Problem is, we have to have everyone playing at the top of their perfect game and the whole team did. We don’t have enough talent for a handful of dudes to have an off day. Teams like LSU and Georgia have so much talent that even dudes not playing well doesn’t impact the overall performance. We just can’t stand up to that yet.
How we feeling Auburn family? Last week I was so excited I didn’t bother to look at the matchups and talent of LSU and we got stomped. LSU has $50 MM of talent. Big gap. Ole Miss doesn’t but they have Trinidad Chambliss. With Ole Miss, we at least match up and have some matchups where we’re better and maybe have a chance? Line is 13.5 on the betting markets. Can we win? Didn’t think we’d take down Georgia but we did. That was 20.5 points. I was “hopeful” going into LSU, not sure how to feel here. What i do know is that Golesh will have them ready and that our team is prolly pissed off and ready to be mean and physical. I think we can win it. Ole Miss fans aren’t the most rowdy, smaller stadium and it’s Halloween so all the students will head out early to party. They think they’re gonna win and it could be a low energy environment. Feels like a trap game maybe?!🐅🦅🌳 @Auburn_Football #WDE
@mattsaw_ Yeah. He did good. Quite frankly I was surprised when those oline committed to Kentucky. He won the portal in the line for sure. We tried but lost out. I haven’t heard any of the back story on how Kentucky beat us out on those line men
Yeah. If you’re only looking to fill a few spots you can really spend to get the right dude. When you’re looking to bring in like 10 oline, 10 dline, receivers, dbacks and everything your needs are just too large. Seems like they’re recruiting hard on o and d line in high school and building those dudes up. Linemen are just not as fast to go into the portal and tend to stick a little better. And you want to make sure you’ve got a nice mix of different classes so you can see how it’s going to build over the years.
They were lurking. They knew that their sweet, sweet boy Lane Kiffin was not a sure thing at Auburn. I think they were worried and were just waiting to see what happened and were maybe even afraid he would lose. The fact that he completely stomped us and won by 21 points was a huge sigh of relief for all of them. I mean, if I had spent $90 million and had the freaking State of Louisiana investing in my program too, I would expect an undefeated top seed in the CFP. So I’m happy for them that they’re not out of the running yet. We’ll get them next time.
