The more banks and FinTechs I talk to about APIs, the more I think that a huge obstacle to financial inclusion is that banks see any FinTech able to capture a new customer segment as competition.
In 2000, only 12% of the global population had mobile phone 📱 subscriptions, and about 60% had access to basic sanitation 🚽.
In 2015, phone subscriptions reached 97%, while about 70% had access to basic sanitation.
