This wonderful project needs you, the dedicated Auger heads or those who generally treasure @brianaugerb3's legacy to chip in (if you can), so this documentary can take shape: https://t.co/e3LwG1GyTK
I need to thank those early supporters of the planned film 'Brian Auger - I Speak Music' - if you can contribute or share this link I'd be most grateful: https://t.co/j4Eywt5ZTH
Truly great support by MOJO and Shindig for @brianaugerb3's "Live Oblivion Vol. 1 & 2”. Both volumes out this Friday!
Shindig: ★★★★ “The Oblivion Express at the absolute peak of their powers”
MOJO: ★★★★ “melodious, spontaneous jams that often better the studio versions”
When it came to remastering the tapes from the original Wally Heider Mobile analogue tapes, @brianaugerb3 relied on his long time friend & fan, Bill Smith at United Archiving in LA – the ideal man for preserving the original recordings' aesthetic and quality from back in the 70s.
In 1976, @brianaugerb3’s Oblivion Express covered Herbie Hancock’s original ‘Maiden Voyage’. The band’s version was later picked up by notable Hip Hop artists such as Mos Def and Japanese DJ Mitsu The Beats.
The cover version is included in the Live Oblivion Vol. 2 - out May 10.
‘Compared to What’ taken from Live Oblivion Vol. 2' is out now on all platforms.
@brianaugerb3 in the original liner notes opines how live recordings can often have drawbacks, but "I hope that spirit shines through".
Both volumes are out May 10: https://t.co/WCvxhOHABG
"Pianist and Hammond organ master Auger is highly regarded as a pioneer jazzer who sought to “develop this idea of a bridge between jazz and different musical worlds.”"

This is very cool, Oscar Brown Jnr introduces The Jimmy Smith Trio - clip from 'Jazz Scene USA' 1962 - the whole show in on You Tube and you need to see it!
'Complete Oblivion' - The definitive Oblivion Express collection of the 6 studio albums is still available in vinyl, CD box set and digital formats - I am delighted with it - I think you will be too! https://t.co/zDjtHZ34Dl
