@haniimhome Recruitment agencies making profit off data collection. Why prioritise a successful recruitment commission when you can call 20 people into a ‘group interview’ and have them fill out half a dozen questionnaires.
So interview discourse currently being the hot thing right now reminds me of the shock people had when I said I always declined group interviews years back. Won’t get into why I rejected them because it honestly doesn’t matter. That was the first time I’ve seen people get so deeply offended over something unrelated to the. and get even more offended when you ask them why they care so much when it has literally nothing to do with them. (Got a job 2 months ahead of one person who said I’ll never get a job like that.)
Not just America the reality that corporate culture globally has become more about power and control within the company ranks far more then actually being a profitable company is genuinely something that needs to be addressed. The interviewer rejecting someone because they were annoyed at a coffee aren’t actually hiring for the benefit of the company’s benefit just there own sense of control. It’s not just morally awful it’s bad capitalism frankly.
@RubyQuartzVsr Kind of this I hope the they keep calling it stupid and limiting participation because sooner or later they do actually need to hire someone to do the job and us millennials are not getting any younger.
I think it’s more accurate to say therapy doesn’t work if you’re unwilling to change. I know people who want to be saved but to them being saved means the issues going away while they get to be unchanging in belief and behaviour. Thats the trick you genuinely won’t be the same person after successful therapy and that’s too much for so many people.
That’s my point a lot of the writers and producers may genuinely have the same experience. We have a lot of genuine hatred of woman in the media but I don’t think the fact female abusers are statistically more vindictive in there methods is part of that. The fact female power dynamics manifest like that is absolutely a matter of societal norms and patriarchy. But media depicting that reality is one of those things where I’m like “it’s not technically untrue”
@maicaronns Given I would sooner deal with every abusive male I’ve ever dealt with lover or friend before I would choose to deal with even a single one of my abusive x female friends I don’t think it’s media misrepresentation and just genuine sentiment
Because absolute morality doesn’t allow for context like experience, ethnicity or location. The way we treat justice as yes good ignore or yes bad punish means the consequence for telling someone to end their life or using a slur should be a universal punishment. Same crime same punishment sound good on paper absolutely doesn’t work in practice. The idea that a crimes severity and consequences are context based destroys the idea of absolute morality so either children are exempt from the rules because they aren’t developed enough or they are developed enough to know better and must be punished the same as adults. You either deserve the punishment or you don’t. No in between is tolerated.
In our drive to make things *feel* fair we make actual justice impossible.
@deercent7 Sadly “I wanna know why I’m like this” translates to “I want you to be a bad person for not liking me.” For so many people it’s genuinely staggering.
@_itsvantablack Two of the same toxic cope isn’t any better. And having good mental health doesn’t actually make you any better at dealing with either persons issues. Their friendship isn’t the issue the fact they don’t have other support options is.
I genuinely felt this a lot a few years back. And honestly the issues was not with my personality but that I kept staying when I should have moved on to new people and groups. Made a lot of genuine friends after I realised I needed people comfortable with minor conflict. I need to have a real long arguments over dumb stuff like the best build in a game without people devolving into tone policing or disassociating from the topic because it got too intense. So many years in friends groups where I was never close to anyone because the second I was having fun they were uncomfortable and it took me so long to realise I probably shouldn’t invest all my free time hanging around people who don’t enjoy what I have to contribute. No one was wrong or hatful and that’s actually why it took me so long to realise the issue.
@fr13dM1lk The statement “I’m not that important” and the question “to gain what?” Puts most that to bed for me. Cause honestly the more awful the person the less they even see you as a person. They just don’t care at all.
Because this has either been used as an excuse for ghosting or the fact people like that exist makes them feel less valid for being angry at people who ghost. It’s moral absolutes of if someone could possibly not be hurt by something then they feel guilty so you must be evil to think like this.
Because our entire system of morality is built around the idea of the ideal victim and we can not recognise someone else’s pain without downplaying our own. So you either end up as the one resenting the fact that your valid pain is being ignored and being unable to empathise with others without downplaying yourself so you often can’t even see things beyond your own pain. or you spend your life downplaying your own pain because you don’t feel it’s “bad enough” to make you worthy of being seen as a victim worthy of help until it builds up and you lash out like in unreasonable ways…
Both suck, both systematically isolate the person. both don’t help themselves or others but nothing else makes sense in a world where we have made suffering a morality play.
That’s the point? Stolas absolutely has obligations due to his rank. In that he is a victim. But he has never been without control and authority overall. He had to have Vai, deeply unpleasant but that was the only thing he **had** to do as a Royal. The fact Stolas was trying to be nice to Stella by staying married doesn’t change the fact it was in fact **his choice.** The reality that much of the last 18 years was in his control is what Blitz sees plain as day and Stolas doesn’t see it yet. Loosing Vai at the end of last season was the first domino in a long overdue wake up call for him.
