🦇 BEFORE BLACK SABBATH, OZZY HAD A VERY DIFFERENT JOB.
Long before Black Sabbath changed music forever, Ozzy Osbourne worked in a Birmingham slaughterhouse.
He spent 18 months doing work few people could stomach. It was one of the last stops on an unlikely road to rock history.
🤘 Did you know about Ozzy’s life before Black Sabbath? What’s the strangest job you ever had?

Before the fame, before Ten—there was one night at Seattle’s Off Ramp Cafe.
Pearl Jam played its first show on October 22, 1990. When’s the first time you heard them?
@blalock_wi38250@11cyberpunk Me neither. But getting to see them with Metallica is a nice bonus since I never would have bought tickets to see them alone.
🤘 QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE AND PIXIES. ONE DOUBLE BILL.
Queens of the Stone Age are taking their new album, Perfecth, on the road for 16 U.S. dates in May 2027, with Pixies and Wheelchair Sports Camp joining every night.
The tour includes Red Rocks and wraps up in Boston. Perfecth arrives October 30, with tickets going on sale October 29.

🎸 THE BIRTH OF PEARL JAM
Oct. 22, 1990: As a late addition to the bill, five musicians played their first show together at Seattle’s Off Ramp Café. Although accounts differ, Pearl Jam’s 2025 anniversary account says they were still unnamed that night and soon performed as Mookie Blaylock.
On March 10, 1991, Eddie Vedder and Jeff Ament announced the name “Pearl Jam” on Seattle’s KISW.
🔊 You’re hearing “Alive,” recorded live at that very first show.
Imagine being in that room, hearing the beginning of history before anyone knew what was coming. 🤘
On Oct. 22, 1990, Five musicians made a historic debut at Seattle’s Off Ramp Café.
They would soon be known by the band name Mookie Blaylock and used it in future billings. Although accounts differ on the name used that night, Pearl Jam’s 2025 account says they were unnamed.
On Mar. 10, 1991, Eddie Vedder and Jeff Ament announced the name “Pearl Jam” on KISW and the rest is history.
I could have made the wording clearer: this is Pearl Jam’s first show, performed under the name Mookie Blaylock. The songs in the footage—including “Alive” and “Even Flow”—are Pearl Jam songs, played by the original lineup before they changed the band’s name shortly afterward. Same musicians, same band, different name that night.
I’m happy to clarify that, but there’s no need for the condescending tone.
