The most important thing I did today: bring an iPad and speaker to bedside and see an elderly, delirious icu pt light up when he saw his family. Thank you @UCSFMedicine@SoundReliefProj@UCSFIMChiefs@ZSFGCare for helping connect our pts and family during these weird times.

Patients are isolated. Due to the contagious nature of the coronavirus, they aren’t allowed visitors and medical staff need to limit the amount of time they spend in their rooms.
Dr. Easterwood showed us how she facilitates the concerts:

@lamichelllerose@music_heals_us@CNN We're working with doctors to ease patient isolation due to COVID. We’ve found that putting small speakers in patients' rooms—connecting them to their favorite songs or voices of loved ones—can make a positive change. We'd love your help! Email [email protected]

GO TEAM!!!! The speakers arrived at the hospitals! They’re being distributed to patients at UCSF (ZSFG & VA). Thank you to all the individuals who donated as well as @Bose. #COVID patients. Let's keep fighting the good fight! #thesoundreliefproject#SoundSanctuary
BIG NEWS! @Bose has donated 100 speakers to our cause. All apart of their #SoundSanctuary program, which gives speakers to those who need them most. Our team is so grateful. Now patients across @UCSF will have better access to music & loved ones. That's music to our ears.
"A reassuring smile makes a big difference to a scared patient. So today I made a giant laminated badge for my PPE. So my patients can see a reassuring and comforting smile."
