It's time for the yearly music roundup. As is usual, I'll start with Malayalam (and cover the rest over the coming week), that continues to give some of the best tracks across Indian films. Naturally, I was spoilt for picks yet again. #Malayalam2025#MusicRoundup2025
It was the year of Justin Varghese and Jakes Bejoy, who delivered at least two great soundtracks each. My top picks for the soundtracks, in order, are
1) Justin Varghese's Paka, 2) Jakes Bejoy's Lokah: Chapter 1: Chandra, 3) Justin Varghese's Painkili, 4) Justin Prabhakaran's Hridayapoorvam, and 5) Justin Varghese's Odum Kuthira Chaadum Kuthira.

What a flex, bringing together top two billed singers in the country, for a second time in the same album. If this is how you want to spend money for the movie, please do more of it :)
Lovely song!

Abhay Jodhpurkar and Saindhavi sound fantastic in the Tamil version. Glad Saindhavi is getting multiple winners back to back in the last couple of years — thread soon!

@enthahotness Unlikely he will come that frequently. Once in a while seems more like it. But they wanted someone of his stature to launch a campaign, given HotStar and Z5’s strong shows and viewership.
@pnamblat@Dumberdol Ugh! I’ve not listened to the songs until now properly. Agree Thadav feels functional, but its reception would have been better with proper album release.
@pnamblat Even Sai Abhyankkar’s Baththa release was mangled. ARR releases have been like this for a long time, CCV launch was a spectacular disaster I recall.
