We were driving to visit a family when my wife suggested that I use the GPS.

I said confidently:

“No need. I know a shortcut.”

That sentence has destroyed the peace of many families, when husband assumed he knows everything. 😂

Twenty minutes later, we passed the same gas station for the second time.

I said nothing.

On the third pass, my daughter sighed and said,

“Dad, becoming Mungo Park is what I don’t understand; are we going to visit them or just keep driving to rediscover Brooklyn?

That one always has a bad mouth.

My wife remained silent. I knew that silence.

That silence was louder than the car horn.

Finally turned on the GPS and it announced:

“Recalculating.”

Even the GPS sounded tired of my leadership. 😂

I explained that one of the roads must have changed.

My wife replied:

“Yes. The city probably moved the entire destination after hearing you were coming.”

At that point, I surrendered and turned my attention on the navigation. 🤷‍♂️

Now it was my turn to remain silent. 😂

We arrived 38 minutes late, but I still maintain that my shortcut had potential.

My duaghter announced to our host that I kidnapped them for 38 minutes…haba!
