Summer do be like this:
We make goals and then the goals go somewhere. Most of the time it's not anywhere we intended it.

This week's featured blog post.
I just finished one of the most emotionally difficult things I've had to write. It's for a brief overview of how insults impact teaching and what we can do about it. It's in a couple difficult parts and I shared some of the insults I've experienced and the hurt is still real!
@davestuartjr How has blogging affected your teaching? Do you feel like there are things you do in your classroom or life that you wouldn't have done if you didn't blog?
@StevesMusicRoom It's for my sound board it looks like I got the one with two hands and maybe I should have gotten it with just the one? The one I have doesn't work when I push it in all the way.
@garyvee ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ. I think most people's opinions of teaching comes from Twitter, one of the most negative communities for teaching imo.
It's not that most aren't supportive, it just seems most of the content that comes up for me is complaining/stress/ fear.
@uche_blackstock @mrsjjee Update: had a meeting this morning with a union rep who told us not to mention anything about vaccines in our classroom. i guess this stuff is so political the union can't even help now.
@uche_blackstock @mrsjjee Thank you for sharing this, I felt pretty self conscious about letting parents know I'm a vaxxed teacher, but I'll be sure to put it out there and let my kids know too.
@zbaalbaki I misread this and gave a bad reply. Yes there's a ton of virtual conferences! I haven't been to any but I've seen ones that are even more specialized. Jazz/choral/theory, you name it!
@zbaalbaki Well it depends on your specialty ๐ . Our Conference in FL (FMEA) is good all around. Midwest is a conference based around band and orchestras specifically. I haven't had a chance to travel enough to recommend too much more.
@ianaddison I know for me as a music teacher our curriculum changes every year cause we always do new music. There are new issues, new histories, and new connections that are unique to our groups. It ends up being a scramble for materials.
