Optimistic → "Go ahead and try, but at the validation phase, if your read set has been invalidated by another committed transaction — abort and restart." Conflict detection at commit time.

I worked on Hercules, a distributed file system inspired by the Google File System paper. It has a master server, chunk servers, replication, chunk-based storage, a Go client SDK, and an HTTP gateway.
