@gardentart Hi, we're sorry for the delay. Didn't get this notification. Our lid is snug-fitting but not airtight. You'll need to place it on a flat shelf in the freezer until frozen. Do not turn it on its side until it is frozen. Send us a message if you have any other q's.
Leftover Smoked Kielbasa and white bean soup from my freezer.
Baked in @SouperCubes stoneware for 40 minutes at 350 and I have a beautiful homemade soup to eat since Iโm feeling lazy.
Hereโs the recipe for the fresh soup:
- 1 pound smoked kielbasa
- 2 cans (15.5 oz) of great northern beans drained
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1 yellow onion
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 2.5 cups of kale
- 1 handful of parsley
- 32 oz chicken stock
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 3 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Seasonings:
Salt, pepper, oregano, thyme, rosemary, garlic powder.
Steps:
1. Add your butter and EVOO to a pot and once melted cook your smoked kielbasa for 5-7 minutes.
2. Add your onion and garlic, cook another 2-3 minutes
3. Add some seasonings
4. Add in your Worcestershire sauce and cook another 2-3 minutes
5. Add more seasonings.
5. Add in your tomatoes and beans. Combine well.
6. Add in chicken stock and simmer for 20 minutes roughly.
7. Add in your parsley and kale and cook another 10-15 minutes.
8. Serve and enjoy.
One of the easiest things I make in a pinch.
Tomato soup:
- 2 cups beef stock
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 3tbsp salted butter
- 3/4 cup half/half
Bring up to a simmer and enjoy with sourdough or grilled cheese.
Keep it simple! Keep cooking!
I used to eat a lot of frozen stuff from the grocery store before I took cooking seriously.
Batch cook your own meals and freeze them. Itโs a life savor with young children and stressful work days. Pay your future self with a homemade frozen meal.
Takes 30 minutes to heat up, not even.
In this video Iโm heating up some of the hamburger helper from earlier this week (recipe in a prior video) and adding some homemade beef stock (or bone broth as the internet calls it) to make a sort of soup.
Delicious and filling.
