@MoneySavingExp I am no economist but if BOE increases interest rates, it raises Govt payments on borrowing, lending to businesses becomes more expensive therefore CPI goes up, inflation then goes up. Govt cannot afford pay increases for Public sector and country grinds to stop
Also any Interest rate increase directly impacts Business borrowing, therefore putting up prices, hence increasing inflation. These clowns will not be happy until they force a recession. Doubt it causes the BOE staff a moments thought with the salaries they are on
Can any of you Economic nerds explain why the BOE think that raising interest rates will reduce inflation.
My thoughts are that any increase costs Govt Borrowing more in interest payments, therefore more tax requirements to pay for the same service. Outcome austerity.
@BanksVictim You are not alone with this disgraceful company. They are trying to brush off my complaint, guessing that I will have to to to the Ombudsman. Any tips on how to get a response from them?
@UnderArmour Hi I got my favourite brand Under Armour hoodie from John Lewis for Christmas. Beautiful product but very short in the sleeve. As I have never had any issues with this before, i wonder if it is a design decision or just a one off problem
@StephenNolan The self serving clowns who are supposed to run this country while sitting at home on full pay. Do they really know what is going on? We pay for the Royals, House of Lords, House of Commons, Councils, Public Service and Civil Service & Pay for all public enquiries
@TheMotleyFoolUK Hi there, just a word on Royal Mail shares. The figures are all due to the pandemic, not quick reaction to market forces. Over 70% of their staff took extended sick leave during the pandemic. The ability to deal with increased demand was down to agency workers.
@StephenNolan Can you ask the question about how Covid related deaths are recorded? If i was hit by a bus tho had a positive Covid test, would it be counted as a Covid related death?
