Ledger Co-Founder's kidnapping is a brutal reminder to be very careful about your security as a public crypto person

- On Jan 21, David Balland and his wife are abducted from their home and taken to separate locations
- Kidnappers demand 100 BTC (~$10M) ransom from another co-founder, allegedly Éric Larchevêque, and send one of David’s severed fingers as proof
- Part of the ransom is paid to buy time
- GIGN (France's elite unit) locates and rescues David
- Hours later, they free his wife, found tied up in a car
- Most of the ransom is tracked and frozen

Total suspects apprehended: 10 gang members (ages 20-40), now facing life imprisonment
