Attention parents! On Monday, April 8, 2024, a solar eclipse will be viewable in Miami-Dade County. While it's an exciting event, please remember that looking directly at the sun during an eclipse can be harmful, and even permanently damage your eyes.

Please note the following to help us ensure student safety:
🕒 Dismissal times remain unchanged.
🏫 Outdoor activities between 1:00 and 4:30 pm will be moved indoors.
🔭 Experience the eclipse safely online! Visit https://t.co/I71lXyjRWb to access the link for viewing.
🗣️ Talk to your child about the dangers of looking at the sun, especially if they walk home from school.
🚗 Remember to slow down in school zones and drive carefully during dismissal times.

M-DCPS hopes you enjoy educational activities during this total solar eclipse, as the next one that will be viewable from Miami-Dade County will take place in 2045.
