🚨 LITTLE ROCK POLICE RELEASE BODYCAM INVOLVED IN CONTROVERSIAL ARREST

On May 15, 2026, shortly after 5 p.m., Little Rock Police responded to a disturbance at a Sunoco convenience store on West Roosevelt Road involving 26-year-old Clifton Shelton over an alleged minor shoplifting attempt. An off-duty deputy bought the item for him, but officers later searched for Shelton following a report of a nearby assault matching his description.

Officer Katelyn Brewer located Shelton and confronted him. During the exchange, Brewer questioned if he had "a problem with white people" and challenged him regarding a fight. When Officer Brad Forrester arrived, Shelton fled into a nearby yard.

A physical struggle ensued after officers drew Tasers. Brewer claimed Shelton grabbed her firearm—which Shelton denied—leading to multiple officers striking and tasering him before placing him in handcuffs.
