The incredibly talented @DRFLivingston spent time with Grand Facile on Monday after the Derby. I think Barbara captured not just the kind eye, but the quiet nobility of our Louisiana Champion, don’t you? Grand Facile is the horse crush of my life & in foal to Goldencents.
Not even close. Not within the top ten since 1973. You have 4 Triple Crown winners (Seattle Slew, Affirmed, American Pharoah, Justify) since then and other incredible racehorses like Spectacular Bid, Cigar, Sunday Silence, Easy Goer, Forego, John Henry, Gulch, Thunder Gulch, A.P. Indy, Point Given, Risen Star, Afleet Alex, etc, etc.
@JanieDeveny@itsallgrey2me Thank you Janie. Not quite ready to talk about it yet but we loved this little girl and thought she had such a bright future.
This is our Kingsbarns filly out of our mare, Cornice Traverse by Malibu Moon. She is 2 months old today and quite the looker. Grow big and strong young lady!!
@JanieDeveny@itsallgrey2me Thank you Janie. I haven’t even been able to talk about her death yet. She was so pretty, well bred, and losing her is very difficult for Cindy and Me. We had such great hopes for her career.
We are praying for her Mom now. She is taking this hard also.
Yes. They were the original purchaser. She is a nice mare that is a full sister to a multiple grade 1 placed filly.
Her foal this year is one of the most beautiful we have ever owned. The foal was a just turned 3 month old. The interstitial pneumonia came on quickly and Rood & Riddle hospital could not save her. She passed yesterday.
Cindy and I are just devastated by her death. This is very hard as we love our horses and all our farm animals. RIP beautiful baby. 💔
Thank you for the kind words. We have been unable to thank each one posting their condolences as we make arrangements for our little gorgeous filly. Our hearts are torn apart as our little filly left us way too soon before she could show the world how special she was.
“Budded on earth to shine in heaven” gives me some peace, but her innocence and zest for life will be the way I will always remember her. Her mother is having a hard time as well and we must keep her close because her loss is so deep from the death of her special little girl.
We are heartbroken to report that our gorgeous foal out of Cornice Traverse just passed away an hour ago at Rood & Riddle veterinary hospital in Lexington. They did everything possible to save her life over the past couple of days.
Cindy and I have no words.
RIP little one. You were loved dearly.
Please hug your animals.💔
I may never make another post of one of our babies. One day after posting this picture of our beautiful Kingsbarns filly, she became sick with interstitial pneumonia and rushed to Rood & Riddle hospital in Lexington. Despite heroic efforts the last couple of days to save her life, the doctors told us a few minutes ago she would probably expire today.
Cindy and I are devastated and there simply are no words.
Our only hope is for a miracle today so we are asking all of you that believe in prayer to send prayers for that miracle.
Our hearts are broken. 💔
Cindy and I are on our 50th wedding anniversary tour of America’s heartland and today visited Mt. Rushmore and Custer State Park in South Dakota. America’s Great Plains reaffirms all the greatness of America!
