This was one of my favorite stories as a child. I think I was five when I read it, but I was quite a bit ahead for my age on reading ability.

Yes, some white men were chastened by the antiracism they were fed in K-12 and college, embraced their inherited guilt, and promised to "do the work," but many others decided that if subaltern groups can claim an incommensurable racial difference that justifies special treatment, well then so can the dominant group. Moreover, he said, whereas racists of the past often had nothing to go on beyond tribal feelings of dislike for non-whites, the new generation has the "scientific" backing of "race realism" to motivate their hatreds. The left's do-gooderism has really created a dystopia.
