Lead dev on the WWII RTS Field of Command. Ex C++ Engineer & Unreal Engine dev. Now experimenting on newer tech like Three.js, AI-assisted workflows, WebGPU.
The ambition for the Field of Command is a little crazy...
It will have an epic WWII campaign that lets you grow from Platoon to Divisional Commander, with over 50,000+ units battling across an extensive front.
Right now the tests are pushing to about 5,000 units. Zooming out you can see that scale really building up, from individual firefights into a clean strategic view.
Still some way to go but already massive scale direct in browser. Hats off @threejs 👏

Totally with you Danny. I’ve had a lot of very focused hate and some critically negative reviews in the past focused purely on the fact I had used Ai in some way.
I spent 10+ years coding, modeling, drawing and using Unreal, but now using Ai more than ever mainly due to speed (and finding those bugs that just waste hours / days of your life).
I very much use Ai in a hybrid way and yet for some that’s still not okay. They just have zero tolerance and will HATE you for it. Sad people.
I’m just at the point now where I don’t care anymore. It’s not worth time even replying. You can’t please some people.
So just ignore them, move on and if they give you a negative review where you’ve already disclosed upfront then flag to steam support as hate, spam and harassment. I think that’s fair…
Thanks for all the love! ❤️
I’m starting a discord community for chat, in-game events, multiplayer and access to early beta builds!

Sometimes it’s real nice to just kickback and watch! ☕️
Field of Command has a delegate command function, so you can leave your lieutenants and officers to fight their own battles, all whilst you deal with the priorities of leadership….
In my case that’s drinking tea and eating cake 🍰 😅

@o_antonio_aqui Please could you jump back into the game and load up a skirmish and then once it loads click bottom right to send a bug report. If you include telemetry it will help me understand what’s going on. Thank you

Field of Command was just updated to v0.2.5. Still a very long way to go but it’s free to play in browser with no download at https://t.co/iHDMP4wv5r, so give it a go!
Every bit of feedback shapes the game! 🙏
The aim is to make delegation even smoother. Imagine drawing arrows and circles on the map to mark objectives and distribute your orders. This should free you up to deal with the big picture problems, like supply, logistics and support.
Once you lead a company you get to delegate objectives to your platoon leaders individually, like attack, defend, withdraw.
Battalion commanders can assign whole sectors to their company commanders who autonomously choose objectives for their platoon leaders.
So on a so forth up to Division.
Im thinking of getting a playthrough / DevLog out in the next couple of days. Getting to a point where things need explaining a bit now. Keen to start building up more traction too… 👍
The idea. You play as a tiny astronaut rebel. Fly to nearby planets to connect and liberate them. Explore on foot to discover secrets and end the oppression. Free the system.

I took part in the @dangreenheck game jam, but did things a little differently… 👀
Rather than using my own idea, micromanaging AI through CLI, playtesting everything then getting annoyed and panicked, I literally just pointed a single Grok Bot at Dans post.
It did everything. It proposed, planned, implemented and playtested from start to finish. All in a few days. I didn’t touch it.
The game is deffo flawed (controls and camera seem glitchy for a start), but rather than trying to iron everything out I thought I’d just let it go for once…
What do you think? 🤔

@nikmlnkr@dangreenheck I agree, for now. It’s extremely slow when playtesting so would take something like 30 mins to play to a point I could get to in less than 1 min. I suspect it will get quicker and tastes will improve but for now we need that human touch...
