Today we hosted a year 6 rounders tournament. St Leonard’s and Southfields both bought over 3 teams each and they all played brilliantly. Well done to St Leonard’s team one who won the tournament overall. ⚾️🏆
A ‘trench experience’ for the year 6s today. The children will be writing postcards home in character as a soldier who was on the front line during the war. We can’t wait to read the emotive writing they produce! @SouthfieldYear6 @GLT_MAT @SouthfieldJuni1
Year 6 have been put through their paces today! They have completed a series of mental and physical ‘tests’ to see if they could make it through the soldier recruitment process in World War I. The selection process will inform their writing tomorrow- we can’t wait to see it!
Our top picks for January! The Last Chance Hotel is a super magical mystery to immerse yourself in. Can you work out the person behind the poisonings? Parents and carers, The Giver of Stars is a beautiful book that provides an insight into overcoming differences. #books#reading
Our top picks for December! How Winston Delivered Christmas is a wonderful festive read and can be read as part of the advent celebrations. For parents and carers, you can’t beat a good Christmas romance novel at this time of the year! #year6#decemberreading#christmasreads
Thank you to the volunteers from St Michael’s church in Highworth for leading a wonderful Christmas workshop today for Oak and Rowan class! #year6#Christmasinabox
What an amazing dance group we have in Year 6. They have worked so hard tonight by supporting each other when learning new dances and always smiling. It is a pleasure to dance with them! #dance#year6
