We've reached the finish line!
The 2025-2026 school year has come to a close. It's been a year filled with headwinds and tailwinds, as well as significant academic and social growth. Here's a brief recap video from Superintendent John Hamstra.
It's been a busy week for the Class of 2026 as they approach their Graduation! Senior Day at NKU, Senior Sunset, Senior Banquet, and Grad Walks. They cross the stage tonight to receive their diplomas at the 146th William Henry Harrison High School Commencement Ceremony.
SLSD recently honored our Certified Employees of the Year, Classified Employees of the Year, Friends of Education, and retirees. We are grateful to each and every one for building in to our students and school community! #WildcatWin
Harrison High School Art 1 classes made origami cranes, inspired by the "1,000 cranes project" in honor of Mr. Coffman. The cranes are a symbol of hope after a loss. The "1,000 Crane Project" (Senbazuru) is a Japanese tradition used for healing and remembrance after death, (1/2)
Once again, the Southwest Local School District has received a Clean Audit Award from the Ohio Auditor of State, with no findings, comments, or management letter.

WHHHS recently held Hope Week. Thanks to the planning of our Hope Squad members, it was an impactful week designed to raise awareness for mental wellness, reduce the stigma against mental health, and prevent teen suicide. #WildcatWin

The next “Coffee and Conversation” with Superintendent John Hamstra and Treasurer Thomas Lowe will take place on Friday, April 24 from 9:00-11:00 AM at The Coffee Peddlar, 112 Harrison Ave. in Downtown Harrison.
There is no need to sign up, just show up. All are welcome!
