It’s His love for us that births our love for Him. In turn, our minds are renewed, our hearts transformed and our actions/behaviors submitted to the leading of Holy Spirit.
The premise is all so simple, even a child can understand.
A free love that is freeing.
We over complicate the Gospel and get distracted with preaching behavior modification when at the heart of it all, the Great News is about a God Who loves His creation so much that He sent His Son to redeem it. All who believe are saved from the hell they got themselves into.
We are such a wretched people, even on our best day.
The fact that there’s a redeeming Savior Who loves us in spite of & through our mess to the point of entering it to bring us out is nothing but a miracle.
He literally does not need us at all, yet & still He loves & wants us.
Our impatience costs us more time and opportunities than waiting on the Lord.
The Lord appears to work slow, but produces deep and “sudden” fruit.
Man appears to work fast, but produces shallow and fleeting “gains.” And that’s when our impatience isn’t making things *worse.*
I'm going to say this to who needs to hear it:
Turn off the news.
Turn off the podcasts.
Turn off the social media accounts.
Read more books.
Go to the gym.
Go to therapy.
Get around your community and build.
Read Your Bible.
Pray.
Jesus saves, not your political affiliations. Supernatural outputs usually come from natural inputs. If you want to be a person of self-control (supernatural output), you need to change your habits (physical input).
If you want love, joy, peace, longsuffering, etc, you have to stop being the god of your own life and give that authority back to Him.
Jesus didn't utter any words of vengeance on the cross because He was God. He was still merciful because He spent 30 years growing in wisdom... that includes responding in situations that upset and disturb you.
You can't follow that example if every other voice (news, podcasts, etc) is louder than Him.
So. Turn it off. Turn Him up. Be blessed.
@litttlesnappy Thankfully Jesus of the Gospel isn’t the Jesus of the nationalistic nation. He’s the ONLY reason I will move forward. People have co-opted the Word for their own personal gain.
Christ isn’t American, wasn’t running or voting and He didn’t personally endorse a candidate. You voted as a citizen of American for who you wanted to lead this country. Now let’s focus on being change agents and culture shifters for Christ as citizens of Heaven.
You voted for who wanted, now let it remain that - a vote for who YOU wanted. Don’t add God’s Name as a co-sign. He wasn’t voting and Jesus wasn’t on the ballot.
Be a beacon of light, a vessel of peace and a reflection of God’s love to everyone around you. Witness about the Gospel. Pray for those in positions of authority. THAT is how we change the world.
As @KB_HGA and @Ameen_HGA shared on their podcast @SouthsideRabbi, we don’t need political power to have Christian influence. We can influence where we are right now, every day, in every encounter.
The spirit intercedes in groanings that cannot be uttered (romans 8:26) I can’t explain it, there’s been moments of deep hurt and sorrow for me and I’m just there with Jesus, Not saying a word but I know i’m praying and He is hearing everything I’m saying, It’s so comforting ♥️
