@Grady_Booch @elonmusk While I agree with some of Elon’s visions for a more equitable and sustainable world, his recent behaviors and attitudes are hard to accept. Ryan Holiday’s book “Ego is the Enemy” would have some great guidance for him, if he’s not too set in his ways.

@gaurgopald To me, investment is a matter of sharing resources, such as one's time, attention, energy, health, experience and finances toward something of value with the intent of increasing that value, regardless of whether one expects to benefit personally or directly from the investment.

@wholemars His company is losing credibility. I tried to report scam accounts impersonating a deceased friend of mine, and all I got were auto-replies basically saying, 'thanks for the report, now we're going to close your request and contact your friend directly to confirm.' Seriously!?

I just finished "An Economic History of the World Since 1400" from The Great Courses via @audible_com. I particularly appreciated the final recap that tied a lot of historical context together in a way that we could really use today. Thanks to @Wondrium for the great content!

@JamesClear Very true. My idea of success has evolved over the years. It seems fairly common for people to seek attention and admiration for themselves these days.
It's becoming increasingly clear to me, however, that greater rewards come when one shifts their efforts toward serving others.

It seems that we tend to experience more satisfaction in the outcomes and accomplishments that require the most patience to achieve.

@elonmusk I believe that lifting people out of poverty also has the effect of disrupting the complacency of others who may have already had plenty of opportunity in their lives, and perhaps spurs them to be more productive, because previously oppressed people can now thrive alongside them.

@RayDalio In your interview with @andrewrsorkin @Davos, you referred to "inflation-hedged assets". I think it's helpful to remember that investment in one's self and today's relevant and marketable skills is a significant hedge against inflation. That costs time, attention and patience.

@IBM In the age of rapid social media communication posts, tweets, and threads, I would like to see AI increasingly used within those platforms to help people better discern what is factual and meaningful so we can better guard against communication that has more self-serving motives.

@elonmusk @elonmusk, I hope you will make it increasingly clear what "free speech" ideally means. Does someone have the right to use their "free speech" to make up something bogus about another person that benefits themselves, but harms others? Doesn't sit right with me. Does it with you?
