UPDATE | The suspects were intercepted by members of the Inanda Task Team and the NIU, with assistance from Crime Intelligence.

One suspect is still being sought, while two others are dead.

Four foreigner nationals arrested and 43 boxes of illicit cigarettes valued at R270 000 seized in Limpopo.

Police activated an operation following intelligence led information about three suspicious vehicles traveling in a convoy on the R37 to Lebowakgomo.

Police attempted to stop them, but they failed to comply. They sped off, and a high-speed chase ensued.

The members gave chase until at the Polokwane Smelters, where they managed to stop the three vehicles, a grey Toyota Hilux, blue Ford Focus, and silver grey Nissan Almera.

Last week, police seized R14-million of illicit cigarettes found in a truck.
