Excited from this weekends @casponline leadership retreat and board meeting! One belief statement that was generated- We believe that educating families and community members about learning, disabilities, and mental health improves equity in education today. 🫶🏼
@Amtrak Currently on a train that is at least 90 degrees inside. When a woman in her 70s asked if the air could be turned on, while she wiped sweat from her face with her handkerchief, the ticket checker told her that it’s always hot. Really disappointed.
On December 17th from 3:30 - 4:30pm, CASP is proud to present a new webinar: “Let it Go: Defrost this Winter Break with Self-Care.” Join us to find new ways of releasing stress and tension so you can enter the new year feeling refreshed and recharged. https://t.co/ZtBQtkKH8J
Road trip with 13 y/o sister and her friend. They said that “we” millennials were responsible for the issues with plastics and climate change. Friend showed me her metal straws (she carries them with her! How awesome is that). Anyway, told her that she was mistaken (1/3)...
... and now that “we” millennials were getting older, “we” were trying to be in positions to make a difference. Looked it up, and @IanCalderon, a millennial, is responsible for introducing AB1884 restricting single-use plastic straws in California. (2/3)...
So grateful for Lore’K and MHS for working with us to bring Dr. Sam Ortiz to present to the Stanislaus County Association of School Psychologists on assessment practices for English Learners!
I've started using @Headspace before bedtime and it's made such a difference. Educators get a huge discount, only $12 for a year instead of a month. I know my staff at @rmsvikings have started using it too. Can't wait to use it with students. https://t.co/O68JkdbRu8
Okay, can we all agree that the saddest part about ordering Chinese takeout is when you get to see how many fortune cookies there are bc it tells you how many people they guessed would eat the meal?
Can’t a girl spend $34 on Chinese food for herself, without any judgement 😂
What a great turnout for the @casponline awards luncheon! It was nice to recognize the contributions of Barbara Thomas (Suzanne Fisher Leadership Award), Brandon Gamble (Sandra Goff Memorial Award), students, and Outstanding School Psychologists in California. Congrats to all!
At CASP Board of Director’s meeting listening to @casponline President Brian Leung inspire us all to be superheroes in our own districts. We r more than SPED psychologists. We r a crucial part of consultation, data based decision making, mh support, & helping w overall school needs

Watching Honey We Shrunk Ourselves on Netflix & 1) I totally forgot Mila Kunis was in this, & 2) @DisneyStudios & Allison Mack as Jenny Szalinski totally nailed the consent conversation in 1997!#WhatConsentMeansToMe.
3/3 Their own 9/11 like loop based on events in their own lives. And how they come to school with no one knowing what’s playing in their heads. Today, we’re all together and tomorrow we will be too when that child feels they’re processing an event alone. 💛 #Honor911
1/3 I, just like everyone else, remember exactly where I was when the towers were hit & fell on September 11th. I remember how I felt, how sad and worried the country was about what was going to happen next. I’ll never forget because this shared trauma is ingrained in us. 🇺🇸
2/3 My heart goes out to all those who lost someone on that day. As a mental health professional that serves school aged children, I also can’t help but think of all the children who have experienced a traumatic event that isn’t shared.
